No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Posting to watch, but a note on railguns. If you can use magnets to speed something up, then magnets can probably be used to slow it down. Cnsider discarding the magnetic components of the projectile after it has been accelerated.

Vote (1) for the Urist scale!
I shall be eternally happy. I shall be able to construct elf hunting giant mecha. Which can pour magma.
Urist has been forced to use a friend as fertilizer lately.

Due to the way magnetism works you'd need to have a gigantic strong shield to have any effect. Using an openended slug can easily prevent this, so it's unlikely people will try.

Here I provide my vision of the Oculus Sentry:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The things that look like X-wing lasers canons are in fact the communication lasers. Red triangles and blue dishes are sensors. Black/red cuboids are electrical generators.

Size and mass on the right. a little more than 3 tons.

On that theme though, we could fire plastic projectiles, which are fitted into a metal cup, and accelerated. The cup is retained and retracted for the next projectile. Of course, this just means we have an even lighter object colliding with something, but it'll also be cheaper.

You got 24 hours to choose 2 designs

Then hivemind may modify designs a bit, then I'll roll the turn

you more or less captured how I saw the Oculus Kaian!

I saw it as a sphere with the dish making it look a little like an eye, but with other sensors aswell. But that works just as well. Awesome ^^

Choosing the atmo vehicle in the vote, simply because I don't feel railguns on drones is a smart decision after some thinking over.

However, close range rockets on drones might be an idea in the future. Also, rockets/torps can have flare/decoys to counter point defense systems. Infact, I'd imagine that'd be necessary. :P

oculus sensor drone (with and without tight beam)
Valhalla atmospheric transport
Mirror drone
Solar sail cargo ship
Hiram railgun drone
Lux laser ship

I think that's everything.

Prototypes might take up too many resources, but we could do computer sims.
I think there were no further changes proposed, except for possibly changing the Hiram's weaponry.

I suggested that we changed 2 for AI, to 1 AI and 1 Stealth on the Oculus. But I think thats it.

I think we finally have a consensus on designs, since I'm counting 5 votes for Valhalla(and we already decided on Oculus). So, I think we're agreed then?

as i cant seem to find an answer: do we have clay for ceramics?
and why do we want to risk our ships with projectiles? ANY projectile in space is something to worry about. including gases.

As for the Battery, I just thought it was a good idea because it was cheap and we have a huge recharging station on haven, but I agree that a reactor might be better. However, batteries would let us get away with a smaller one.

Will drones be a package deal per IC? Cause spending an entire IC to make one drone makes absolutely no sense ...
This question was never answered, so here we go again ...

Since an entire corvette cost aproximately one IC, I'm pretty sure the answer is obvious.
