((OOC: I hate to double post, but here it is:))
Journal of Glloyd, Dwarven Survivor: Summer draws to a close, with the new arrivals beginning to settle in. Thus begins a new era for the fort. I have instructed the others to start removing the corpses from the fort, as to make it livable again. It appears that they have made me the de facto leader. Despite my wounds, I carry on, showing the other dwarves through the blood soaked passages of Mirroredfreezes.
24th GalenaWhat is this? Some foul Kobold has stolen Zegosthin... And I find myself not caring at all. There is so much work to be done that a missing artifact means little... In other news, I ordered some dwarves to drain out the lower levels. Hopefully, they can be put back into service once cleared.
LimestoneA human caravan arrived today, reminding me that we should build a new depot before our dwarven brethren come. But wait, on the horizon... Is that?
A small goblin raiding party! Most likely stragglers from the siege, looking for shelter from the cold. We shall give them no quarter!
I ordered my men to form a squad and charge at the approaching goblins. We would show these goblins that Mirroredfreezes is still something to be reckoned with!
Late Limestone/Early Sandstone*Blood is smeared on some of the pages, and the writing seems shakier then previous entries*
We managed to beat off those goblins... But our victory came at a cost... We have two more critically wounded, and another one dead... I myself am confined to bed due to multiple wounds on my body... Luckily,
if you can call it fucking luck more
doomed migrants have arrived at the fort... It seems we have a large surplus of food and alcohol, so the priority is moving all the dead... There are so many... They line the halls, their blood is tracked on our shoes... Will this place ever be clean?
Late Sandstone A caravan arrived today, christening our newly built depot... I told some slacker to go trade with them, and he sold some of the dead's clothes for some equipment we needed... We probably got the worse end of the deal, but at least we're still alive, unlike the rest...
OpalI am feeling much better, well enough to get out of bed. It appears our dwarves have finally cleared out almost all of the corpses and refuse. There are two massive piles on the surface. At least the cold will keep them from rotting even more...
Late Obsidian As the winter draws to a close, so does my time leading these people. Mentally and physically, I cannot do it. They shall elect a new leader from amongst themselves. My time leading these people is up. I shall remain in the fort though, and do my best to help it keep going. To leave... To leave would be to admit the goblins won, and to give up all we fought for. As my last act, I ordered those dogs I found in the lower decks to be slaughtered. Some can stay alive, but the others... We need their meat...
((OOC: And that is all. Stocks are fine, there's a ton of food and alcohol. What needs to be done is rebuilding stuff destroyed, slabbing and coffining ghosts, setting up traps, getting wood somehow, and just generally surviving. Beds are needed, and a lot of the areas and rooms I set up were temporary fixes. Also, a lot of bins are needed. There are piles of clothes everywhere. Good stuff to ship out and trade. And that's all. Save is
here Good luck! You'll need it...))
