     Forever in the annals of dwraven history will this day be remembered. A massive vein of admantine was found; 111 levels below the surface. We have not even reached magma and already adamantine revels itself to us. This is good omen. As a former miner, I shall carve the exploratory tunnel myself. No sight is more beautious than raw adamantine with its piercing shade of turquoise. The enemy marvels in its glory as it cuts them to pieces. Criminals gain strength and fortitude in knowing that it will be an adamantine hammer that strikes their skulls. Our fortress becomes rich with sounds of smelting admantine and extracting adamantine strands and forging adamantine goods.

Hey, I had a pump feeding the cistern, i dunno how the cistern got flooded anyways (having it on the same level as the aquifer is the best thing to do in any case).

     I finally sealed off the well and used the former arena as a drainage area. Now we can just drown captured enemies. It's less messy that way. Anyway, I have made a room to store and process raw adamantine. Soon I shall carve my name into the halls as the first finder of great riches. My legacy shall be the wealth of the fortress.

yeah, i kinda forgot to mention it in the Original Post, but no purposely screwing the game over for the next overseer.

You know, things like unleashing the clowns, flooding the fortress, or purposely causing a tantrum spiral (they happen, and that's totally fine, but intentionally causing them isn't good)

Summer

     A planter has expressed worry at our mining of adamantine. He has regaled me with tales of mystical hordes of clowns in candy tubes. To set his mind at ease I have agreed to mine no deeper into the adamantine vein. In other news there has been an attack by some jabberers and I know not yet the casualties.

     As far as I have seen two have died. A metalsmith and a legendary mechanic. May their souls be at peace feasting with Armok on the lifeblood of the earth. Another's body has been found:a herbalist. Again a body has been recovered every one we find is mutilated almost beyond recognition. This time it was a weaponsmith. The garbage disposal system will be in high demand today... The workers have given names to both of the jabberers. Ageshkat and Ducimnisun. May they rest in peace. The slayers were Asob Akmamimush and "'Rendell' Cattenromlam -Tholtigfotthor: The Barricaded Forests.

     My previous agreement with the planter is getting harder and harder. Adamantine is so seductive; it calls me deeper. I hear it in the echoes of my footsteps and in my dreams. My resolve weakens daily; I hope I have the strength to last until I am no longer in leadership.
