My (admittedly brief) browsing of the wiki led me to believe that thieves were nearly useless in the first Disgaea. I take it that I'm mistaken?

he pretty tame in one he not like he is in 3 in the Land of Carnage only lvl 4000 not lvl 9999

No, not etna mode, it was the one part of the options menu you had to unlock if I remember where I saw it before. Eitherway, its not terribly important, its just nifty.

I sorta changed how pay is calculated. You will still receive payment for every stage, but you will only get bonuses for the first time we do a stage.

Doesn't look too bad...

The yellow bands and pyramids are geopanals and symbols respectivly. In short, standing on a panel results in you(or any unit) gaining different properties. A Geo Panel only works if there's a geo symbol on ANY panel of that color(Symbol color doesn't need to match). Each Geo Symbol has a different effect. Some make your life easy others will break your army in half. This set is beneficial, provided we can get two melee units on it. Whoever sits on that panel will get a 50% attack buff, and can attack the same target twice.

A bunch of Ghosts and Faeries, and a couple of fighters.
This battle was pretty uneventful.

Laharl and Sanya had some pretty good synergy.
 

I wanted to get kill pictures for everbody, but just replace the ghost with a faerie.
Basic, battle nothing really special happened.
