Burrows have changed?

So I haven't played df for a while.

I have noticed, however, that when I designate burrows, my dwarves no longer run to safety, but stay outside and get torn to pieces by zombie gophers...

Looking of df.wiki,, it seems burrows are now complicated and of use only in the military, but are of no use whatsoever to casual players who use it as a get underground quickly alert.

Has anything changed, 'cos it's not the same as last year for me....

Ok, they have changed but its quite simple really.

1. make the burrow
2. go to the military alerts
3. go to "active/train"
4. on the right hand side your burrow should now show.
5. press enter on the burrow, it should become active.
6. Back on where it has active/train - hit enter. This sets the [CIV] alert to active/train too - and so they'll go to this burrow.
7. Once the danger is gone, go to the same screen and select the inactive tag, hit enter.

I've got a problem with burrows:
I set up a 1x1 burrow on the bridge. Them I want a meat for doc training to go there. I add 2 dwarves to this burrow, but they don't care!
How can I make them (and only them) go to this friggin burrow?

The first small thing that made me feel awesome was my indoor waterfall. A few minutes later though, it started flooding my fort so I felt less awesome.

Burrow limits job selection, not movement. Try enabling alert to this burrow and then disabling it. Everyone else should go back to their business, and those assigned to burrow should remain there.

Make a squad, add this 2 dwarves, and station or patrol this burrow.
