Should be good! Will there be any time restrictions for how long a person takes their go?

Not really, besides "Don't take a long time". If necessary, we can vote via a poll wether or not to skip someone's turn because they took a million years.

Hmmm flat forests are nice
Volcanoes are nice
Evil biomedical are terrible
Mountains are nice, but limiting

Flat forest w/stream is my vote

Baring the dreaded limit of FPS in mind, a small embark without a waterfall would be ideal. I love waterfalls, dwarves love waterfalls, my laptop however is less than keen. I don't really have that great a preference about the locale: hot, temperate and cold all have their charms, and a little bit of savagery keeps things fresh.

I vote for some place haunted.

I know Haunted biomes have been embarked in by everyone, but that's not the reason why I want to embark there.

This is why I want to embark in a Haunted biome.

If you want true Sardaukar, you will need a different strategy. First you need to break them mentally while building them physically.
Hot damn, that is fantastic. I love it! I spent several days modding Sandworms into my copy of DF. They were badass and tough as nails.

Funny you should mention Dune, because I'd like to embark on a desert plain. I like the challenges associated with heat and no wood.

I was unable to make them tunnel. I don't know if any monster can move through solid matter.

Ah, Well maybe when the new update comes out, you can try to add the tunneling?

I'm back. Time for more unproductivity!
How about a small, flat, evil and warm forest embark, as a combination of some of your suggestions?

But,but...
If the biome is evil, I'll be the first to die because I'm a hunter, make it partially evil
