Just posting to say I missed the thread in question, and my opinion of none of you has changed... barring some mild disappointment that no one shipped me and/or my characters.

Is it cool if I make another shipping thread yet?

We can never have another shipping thread again. I think even a forumer fanfic thread is probably still iffy.

It's okay, this one can be limited to pictures of cargo and keelhauling.

I was thinking to start one where it's ok to ship anyone / anything, but only forumites if they're posted in the actual thread.

If you do do that, at least have a no extremely explicit stuff rule.

Sure, I'm still deciding whether it's a good idea. Can someone PM me what the last set of rules were, and any suggestions on what would make a future version avoid the last set of problems?

Far as I can tell, only ship if explicit consent was given.
Apart from that, it should probably just be limited to nonsexual stuff. Or at least nonexplict.
Of course, if this goes bad again, I'm just going to say that this was a bad idea.
This is probably a bad idea. But still, only with consent, and no explicit stuff.

Is it a good idea? The fact that we have to specify "No explicit stuff" says something about that.

I admit I'm not one for shipping in general, but shipping people you actually know, moreover in a public place where they're likely to be exposed to and deal with it, is sort of the worst idea imaginable. It crosses lines related (albeit in a removed way) to non-consensual sexual acts. It's really not something I'd condone.

At the very least, it's right up there with writing someone's name in a bathroom stall, and saying they'd like a call for a good time. Sure it can be funny, but it's at someone's expense.

This is why I think people should just stick to regular fanfic and not imply anything more than a platonic relationship between various Bay12ers. I think the fic I wrote and the one I received were awesome enough that the need to insert sexual tension probably hurt them more than anything.

Could the thread title be changed since we're not talking about any apology? (since the fires have died and everything seems settled)

What not to do:
Ship forumites, literal or figurative. Explicitly.
Go beyond any moral boundary of what you'd actually do in real life to another living being and do it on the net just because anonymity.

What to do:
Praise the shipping industry and all its economic commerce.
Realize how funny the English language is with all the words and all their meanings.
Love how discussion comes around on any matter presented.

The pics of ships really cracked me up guys. XD

In other news, I had tray - baked chicken the other day, or that thing where you wrap your chicken in bacon before setting it on fire.

It was pretty great. :)

Bacon X Chicken, hey?

"Bacon lovingly wrapped his tender flesh around Chicken's eager breast. Their joined flesh burned with a fiery passion".
