Knew it. I knew I wouldn't remember everything I was reading.

This is precisely why I keep all my links in a handy html file on my desktop. Start a new webcomic, add a link to it on the html file, then go through the links on the page once (okay, I admit, it's closer to 4 or 5 times) a day.

I'm only going to list stuff that hasn't been said before:

Rusty and Co. I'm just going to quote TV Tropes here: "With the charismatic Mimic, absurdly cute rust monster Rusty, and the silent yet deadly Gelatinous Cube, the three set out in search of fame, fortune, and experience levels — and every level (adventure), they ally themselves with an Action Girl for at least part of the level.
"Of course, things that would be obstacles to more conventional adventurers pose no problem for these three, whereas other more simple tasks create great difficulties. Expect hilarity (with a side of Lampshade Hanging) to ensue."

Besides the main characters, the Action Girls are the best part. Madeline the Paladin is adorable and probably my favorite character.

Scandinavia and the World is a webcomic that imagines the countries of the world (especially the Scandinavian ones) as anthropomorphic personifications and portrays world in the context of their personal interactions. If you are familiar with Hetalia, I'm told it's sort of like that, except not limited to World War 2.

Overcompensating This may not be for everyone; it's the heavily fictionalized autobiographical account of Jeffrey Rowland, real life president of TopatoCo (the company that is responsible for producing merchandise for an number of webcomics, among them the Homestuck t-shirts) provides the topmost picture for wikipedia's article on loxoscelism (a condition caused by the bite of recluse spiders).

Wigu, a webcomic about a the strange adventures of a little boy named Wigu and his messed up family. The main project of Jeffrey Rowland and contains the namesake of TopatoCo.

The ones that have not been listed:

Sluggy Freelance - A very ling-running comic (15 years) which has no particular genre to describe.
Drowtales - One of the few interesting fantasy worlds I have seen, but seems to have lost any sense of plot in the last few months.
Our Intrpid Crew - A comic about a small spaceship and it's intrepid crew.
Derelict - Comic about one person wandering/sailing around in a post-apocalyptic world.
Gunnerkrigg Court - Comic about a girl who goes to a school at the Gunnerkrigg Court.  We have a thread about it here.

MSPA Homestuck for one, I'm sure it's well known around these parts. Not a fanatic but I do enjoy it a fair bit.

Other then that I really enjoy The Pocalypse. It's a flash webcomic with a new scene once or twice a week.
The setting is a post zombie-apocalytic world with fantasy elements, it features zombies, mutants, vampires, sentient plants and rogue machines.

I also find Antics far more funny then I probably should. Check it out if you like silly humor.

Romantically Apocalyptic is great to.
Think it's been mentioned already, just want to add it has some of the best art I've seen in webcomics.
Can't reallly comment on the story, I don't understand half of it most of the time, but I think that's normal.

I'll just grab the my whole comics folder.

Dinosaur Comics - duh
Awkward Zombie - typical video game comic
Boxer Hockey - I'm about to drop this thing if it doesn't update soon
Dr. McNinja - one of the best comics I've ever read
Fanboys - a mix of video games and more character based stuff. it stopped updating for like a year but it's back.
Girl Genius - steampunk
Goblins - Really great. Starts out kind of mediocre but the author has grown a ton as an artist and author.
Gunnerkrigg Court - sort of magical sci-fi/fantasy coolness
Hark, a Vagrant - history jokes, never updates anymore
Looking For Group - good but not great, I mostly keep up with it because it's long and I'm invested
MSPA/Homestuck - it's homestuck
Overcompensating - it's the guy who made topatoco
Scenes from a Multiverse - various goofy stuff, bashes on religion a little too much but otherwise great
Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal - dude it's SMBC, science jokes etc
xkcd - it's xkcd
Snowflakes - a fantastic plot for being about five year old orphans

Svarte, what the fuck? The things that come from 4chan..

I actively read:
Dresden Codak
Updates slowly, but it's the best web comic I've ever seen.
a softer world
Kind of weird, dark humor. Overall beautiful.
xkcd
Mostly disgusts me. But I think I sometimes laugh?

I periodically check and am still going through the archive of Dinosaur Comics.

I've gone through the archives of half a dozen or more comics and didn't continue.
I have a few dozen bookmarked but never check.

It comes up fairly frequently. Web comics are popular. Things change, so a new topic is usually relevant.

I'll keep my list to ones I haven't seen other people mention.

The Meek. It starts off as a really promising low-fantasyish adventure, though it's only updated 8 pages in the last year. The first three chapters are pretty great though.

Ironborn is "a celebration, in comic form, of robots, magic, and everything in between." Also an engaging story and pencil art. I actually need to catch up on the latest chapter.

I think what turned me off Elgoonish Shive (Other then hearing it was extremely popular and as you know I have a pathological aversion to popularity) was just how unbelievably wordy, fetishy, and sad it got for a while.

Mind you... you all who have read it have LOOOONG since got past where I was.
