So, my mood dwarves have been asking for wood, they took the first log. They wanted stone and took the first stone. They anted metal bars, they took the first ones.
Is this all coincidencial or is it working the same with everyone?

Then, my blacksmith entered in a fey mood, which is perfect cause I already have legendary stoneworker, mason, metalcrafter, bone crafter, woodcrafter, gem setter and 2 miners. The problem is, I have everything he asked :

He asked for : metal bars, raw green glass, rough gems, stone, plant fiber clothes.
He took 2 iron bars an a platinum one, one raw green glass, some magnetite, rope reed cloth.
I have tons of rock and ore, tons of both rope reed and pig tail clothes, one more platinum bar, and one raw green glass left. I have some onyx and fortification agate, about 20. So, what the hell does he want?

Strip-mine every nonsediment layer you have until he gets happy.

Also, make sure the gem isn't cut.  If he wants rough he wants rough and if all you have is cut your screwed.  You might check his "likes", a lot of times the gem they want is in their list of likes if they want a specific one.

I've noticed they seem happy to take whatever you make first. They aren't very picky anymore.

That's why I was doubting... since they take the first thing they find, and it works this way or stone, bars and so on, why not for gems?

If he wants plant fiber cloth, are you sure you have pig tail cloth?
