do wolfs cross brooks?

do they? becouse i have a pack at the other side of my brook... and they scare my dwarfs.

Just about anything that isn't a monkey or a deer is a hazard.

Also, all brook tiles are walkable for any land and amphibious creature.

Wolves are a pretty big threat for a new player.  Even for an experienced player if they 12 of them show up during your first winter.  Unless you have a military I'd stay away from them.  Though a couple of competent marksdwarves can deal with most animal threats.
