Well a few guys on my teamspeak server says DF sucks (graphics with mayday tileset, gameplay, community, etc) after I told them that iv'e been playing nonstop for the past 3 days.
 I would like someone that insanely love dwarf fortress to convince them to play.

Well... I dont have teamspeak, but you can give them the link to this topic.

Now, Dwarf Fortress is a great game, random generated worlds, megabeasts, gigantic towns with markets and keeps, vampires that infiltrate hamlets and kill people, bandits, enemy warlords... and much, MUCH more.

Sadly ive tried for a few years to convert them to follow armok, its going to take alot more to convince them.

It probably isnt the type of game they like, DF is a very complex game and is very hard to master but once you master it, you can see every aspect of the game. Did you mentioned them that the game is version 0.34 (1/3 of the complete game)?

I did not mention the version to them(I did say its not done), i just told them that it is the best game you will ever play its hard at fist but once you get a few days into it you don't want to stop.
After you get over the textures and how it looks it will be your #1 game . They have been playing every single game that i play over the past few years, but I just cant get them to play DF.

We play action, strategy, RPG, and the list goes on. (Minecraft, Starcraft, LOL, Skyrim, Torchlight, Left 4 dead, battlefield3, VVVVV, borderlands, and many many more.)

But still, tell them to at least download it a play a little bit (watch tutorials, lazy newb pack), thats how I started, the game may be slow, but then once you have your dwarven soldiers with full set of steel armor decapitating goblins (same goes with adventurer, only the part of decapitating goblins though).

That's exactly how I started playing dwarf fortress! I think i need to install a rat on their computer and download the game. Also replace every shortcut with something DF related.

Let 'em read the tragic saga of Boatmurdered.  That's how many of us got here.  If they're not readers, there's probably no hope for them, but that's okay.  Not everyone has the backbone, the creativity, the warped sense of humour, or the patience to play Dwarf Fortress.  Some players were always ready for DF, others will never be.

Let 'em read the tragic saga of Boatmurdered.  That's how many of us got here.  If they're not readers, there's probably no hope for them, but that's okay.  Not everyone has the backbone, the creativity, the warped sense of humour, or the patience to play Dwarf Fortress.  Some players were always ready for DF, others will never be.

AND put your very own creatures, with steel skin and bones, swords attached to their fingers, then you capture them, goblin siege comes, you free them, and then the FUN! comes.

Play DF and avoid this CRAP.  Otherwise send your buddies on over to that.. *cough*  CRAP.  The folks who originated the placement of single player save games, online.  No matter how pretty that CRAP gets, its still butt-ugly, when it doesn't work.

I'll be honest.  Dwarf fortress isn't for everybody.  Some people like first person shooters.  Some people like people like farmville (for some reason.).  Some people like games with great graphical polish, while others focus in more on skill and fast paced action.  Dwarf Fortress wont appeal to those people, and there is very little you can do about it.

Also, while I know I've gotten used to it, I will say that the interface could do with some work as it will scare off most people who arn't at least partially familiar with games like age of empries or sim city.  (Or something similar)
