According to the list, the next person was the guy who made the thread.

Yeah, I'm maybe halfway through the year, but the file got corrupted when I saved. I don't have any more time to play it this week, so it might be a better idea to skip me.

The demons reside within the minecart; ever watchful.

Or, it is the inevitable source of bad luck that comes after the large amount of good luck we have gotten so far.

I'm almost afraid to ask this, but is this still going on?

Well it was Raptorstorm's turn, but they seem absent. I'm running another fortress right this minute. But I could probably start my turn later today or tomorrow, unless someone else wants to step ahead of me now?

No no, if the person before you doesn't take it, go ahead.

Extract from Mistakes in Aquifer Breaching: A History of Ancientbushes

The year 255 began with mixed auspices. On the one hand, with the birth of Reg 'Reggie' Gilturns, the population of the city had blossomed to 110 dwarves. On the other hand, there were five ghosts and a werepig all in the vicinity of the dining room, almost no one had their own bedroom and corpses littered the fort's eastern front. For all their strivings, the previous overlords of the fort had failed to make Ancientbushes a pleasant place to reside and there was scant hope among the populace that this year would be any better.

Extract from A is for Axes, B is for Blades, C is for Cages: A Child's Guide to Dwarven Mechanics

What is the first thing you must do after a goblin siege? Yes that's right! You must clear up the corpses from your traps. Remember children, new stones must be placed in stone traps every time they're triggered! But do wait until everything is dead. Always remember L.G.K.D.: Living Goblins Kill Dwarves. You won't be a Productive Member of your Dwarven Citadel when you're a ghost, now will you!

The I was waiting on my mechanics to reset all the traps before others were going to clear them

The siege was much more messier than that....

Also your troops should be on the other side of the fortifications

Extract from Exorcism for Dummies: Dwarf Fortress Edition

Top Tip: Engraving slabs is a great way of memorialising dead and avoids the inconvenience of recovering corpses from wells or ongoing battle fields. Always have spare slabs available for every eventuality! A happy dwarf is a dead dwarf properly memorialised.

  • the only thing I didn't pay much attention to, was memorials and graves.....

Was building too many traps, and cutting forests down, and smelting off the iron

Btw, we need more stone traps.......

What is the only thing better than lots of stone traps? That's right children: even more stone traps! There can be no peace in the long dark night of the soul but excess traps are a start!

Nononono, stone traps are for OUTSIDE the corridor
Excessive amounts of blades axes and screw pumps are best for the tiny enclosed hall!

But your the overseer!
