[Community] The Field of Lords *Grab a Dwarf*
« on: December 01, 2012, 02:25:20 am »

Once upon a time, upon the Field of the Lords there was a small group of Dwarfs.
They were out hunting. They find themselves to be lost.

Like all true dwarfs, they started to complain and bicker.

Are we going to die! Whose fault was this? I am hungry! What do we do now?
One of the older and wiser dwarfs stood above the others and declared.
We will dig. We will hunt. We will survive.

And that is what they did. And this is their story.

*********************************************
Year 251: 1 2 3 Year 252: 4

Rules: No unnamed dwarf is allowed to do anything other than hauling.
When naming a dwarf you can declare any number of jobs. I will not be allowed to turn these jobs off for that dwarf.
I will however be allowed to toggle all other jobs at will

Fortress Name: Danmanucat "Heavybeer"
Group Name: Kuletalak Gataltosidlibashsedil Zustash "Abbeyaces the Ageless Armored Axe-Angel of Ancients"

I'm in!

Peregar, Mechanic/Animal trainer, please. Will not hunt, but capture wondrous animals and domesticate them!
Choose one with preferences for some savage animal, if possible.

I will place cage traps randomly scattered over the surface (and caverns). In spare time can be jeweller, crafter or trader.

I have Peregar down for a Mech 5 / Train 5.
I assume that you are bringing along as many cages/mechanisms as possible.

Fishybang is down for a 5 Hammer / 5 Dodge.
I'll give him a nice hammer.

Hagop's most likely not going to take any levels of Training after all.
He will probably end up going with Lead/Doctor skills.

Name my dwarf Puffer, give him 5 masonry and 1 architecture. All I need is good, cheap, sturdy stone. I like building, er, buildings and stuff.

Well, it fits the background story. Though stones and wood supply would be more effective.

Duthnur,
Male,
preferably Likes Helping Others.
Very Model of a Scientist Dwarf: turn on Miner, Mason, Engraver, Carpenter, Bowyer, Trapping, All Healthcare skills, Butchery, Plant Gathering, Plant Processing, Cooking*, All Engineering skills, Architecture. Of these, give pre-embark points on the Healthcare skills, as available. All others are quickly learned.
Would prefer to be Chief Medical Dwarf.

Also, bring a pick.

Ok, sounds amusing. I'll be the old grizzled hunter dwarf. Name is "Barter", since what is a more effective means of negotiating than a crossbow?

Ambusher 5, Marksdwarf 4, Bowyer or Brewer 1 (your choice) on the most Agile dwarf you have to spare in the starting lineup. Gender irrelevant.

Gear: A Bismuth Bronze Crossbow (though a degrade to Bronze/Copper is fine if theres not enough points), any bolts, and a pet hunting animal (ideally a bird of some sorts, but I'll take a hunting dog if need be).

Won't that skill set automatically give you a set of leather armor, quiver, bolts and crossbow in this version?

You guys are in. Tomio you are First in line for the first immigration wave.
Thank you Duthnur, for bringing a pick!

I assume dignity and culture means 50 plump helmet spawn.
So we can keep our dignity and not drink water, and growing the plants is culture.

I know that immigrants start with an xbow for free, I have no idea if you get a free Xbow on embark. I'll test it out really quick.
No free Xbow. But you will get that bird. It can simply replace one of the dogs.

Yeedwarf also demands a fancy cloth shirt as soon as possible. Maybe the first dwarven caravane can offer such a thing. However don't buy it from the elves, because their cloth causes itch.

You started with a giant cave spider silk robe.
Is that fancy enough?
