Any interest in a blitz community game?
« on: November 30, 2012, 06:12:13 pm »

I'm thinking about creating a 2x2 embark on a tiny region, with high metal content and starting a blitz community game.

The rules would be:

1) 48 hour turns, no matter what you get done in that time.

2) No mods that actually change the game.  Vanilla DF.  Tilesets are fine if you want to use them, provided they don't change the gameplay.

Would there be any interest in something like this?

Let's do it. I am obligated to remind everyone that I am extremely unreliable when it comes to succession forts, but the strict time limit should help with that. Sign me up if you do it.

This sounds crazy fun. I'd like a turn five if possible. I like playing around with later forts and messing stuff up.

Sounds good, I'll have a nice fort started up tomorrow night.  Currently hammering out some defenses and starting to look for a path to the lava.  I will pass on Talkedwind once I get those two things straightened out to a reasonable point :)

The nice fort ended up getting wrecked by a Vampire because I didn't understand the new justice system before it had already killed 4 dwarves with 200 witnesses.  The final blow was when the vampire itself was killed, ironically enough.  I'm reclaiming now.

Blitz game put on delay - impossible recovery of a 200 dwarf fort.  Too many zero morale / already-insane returning dwarves that were all friends with each other still.

Next time I open the friggin gates and let the goblins in and let ALL the dwarves die before I try to reclaim.
