The individual food units are like crates, but full of one object. Unless you want your crew to fear bananas for the rest of their life, you should probably just use that in manufacturing.

You follow the slave trader and inquire about the blonde girl.
Aye, ye got a good eye, but ye need one to get here don't ya? Ha!
She used to be a rebel fighter from Arteria. Seems she was a sniper- we were trudging through the desert and tried to take shelter in some ruins- we were damn surprised to find her on the floor above us! It was a scuffle, sure, and we're kinda supporting our enemies back on Arteria by capturing a rebel that earned a name amongst the federation- but she's probably damn worth it.

You want to buy? She's not cheap for a slave, but honestly, I'll make you a deal. I'm having a damn hard time keeping her in place- she could escape a super-maximum underwater prison I'm sure- and I'm tired of buying repairs for the various things she breaks. I can still have enough profit if you give me 1600Y. You know what? I'll even let you just do it in two payments, even. 800 now, and 800 later that gets wired here- (he hands you a number and tells you to send money to it)- and you can have her. None of her stuff though, unless you want to pay extra... 20000Y for that sniper rifle alone. Damn thing was nice. If someone makes me a better offer though, I'm not waiting."

Saving her and THEN coming back for the sniper sounds nice though

You go ahead and pay him all that he wants, and he returns 100Y. "Paying in cash makes it a lot easier on me, you know."

The blond girl was un-handcuffed and pushed your way. Giving you a dirty look, she surprisingly dosen't run.
"He told me you were a soldier. I'm going to work to restore you to your former honor."

"Fuck you and fuck off, government dog."

"I may work for the government, but I'm just a scout. I've heard of... Arteria's trouble.

"You don't know a damn thing."

"I'd like to."

"Fuck you."

"Would you rather me sell you again, to someone who won't care about anything but your looks?"

"I'd get away and you know it."

"So what? How will you get back to Arteria?"

"... Fuck you."

"I'll take that as a yes."

You go to the market and purchase one fuel upgrade as well, leaving you with a minuscule 360Y.


You can now jump to Arteria, in the Carpals system. This jump costs 2 fuel.

She has such a nice... personality

Tell her she will be free right after we buy back her sniper, and if she wants, we can lend her a jump to arterial




Or we can be a jerk and tell her she must work off the money owed for her life and sniper rifle

Take her to the ship, get her a spare uniform and direct her to a shower, prepare a meal and drink for her while we are heading for our next stop, ask her how she got caught and what rank she held.

Make sure to lockup/ secure all weapons on board. I don't think our "guest" would like to play nice.

You escort the new crew member to your ships, hand her a uniform that's likely to fit, and give her a basic map of the ship.

That is, after locking down the small weapons bay you have. It's not much, but you suspect your new prisoner crew member was still dangerous.


After she showered and dressed, she came straight to the helm.
"What's happening, capt'n? I thought you'd be a huge ass, considering you bought me and everything, but I guess you aren't all bad. That, and I'm curious. What are you doing that your government is so willing to pay you for?

"I'm from Earth, and as you probably know, we're behind on space exploration. I scout the border of our maps and they give me what I need to do it."

"You say Earth? Could have sworn you were from Kiliho or somewhere."

"Where?"

"Oh, a nearby system to Arteria that helped spur the whole situation there now. Part of the reason I wasn't happy."

"I see. Well, right now, I'm trying to stock up on supplies so I'll be ready when the time comes. I can't go back on going to Arteria now and honestly I'll be doing just what I'm paid for."

"That's good, I guess. I take it you're miners?"

"Basically, mining engineers. We have an assembly line, as well."

"Hmmm... The Federation used to call me Banshee, you know. Disappeared like a ghost after striking hard. I wish I could get my rifle back."

"Stay with us, and help us, and I'll see what I can do. If I can't get it back, no obligations. Sound good?"

"I guess. I'm not bad at weapons manufacturing, can handle just about any weapon, and I'm the best shot in Arteria... or at least from Arteria."

"I don't have much as far as crew weapons go except for four ballistic handguns. They're pretty old... but it's what we have."

"I won't need it yet. Where are we going?"

"Some unnamed planet, it's got mineable tin and silicon."

"I guess that sells well, but I can't really do anything with it. Next time we're in a market I can show you what to buy to upgrade that pitiful arsenal on the cheap. I had to do it plenty before."

You finish your trip to Planet 1 and begin mining. This time, yo completely fill your hold with:
500 Tin Units
300 Silicon Units

We should be able to make 60 biogel with 300 tin left over

Nexttime mine to the same ratio but silicon be greater and tin be less
