@Alkhemia: Hm, how to describe it... Delin is part of about 4-6 giant creatures that have their own wildlands. It's not required to kill them but the loot you gain from them is usually very good. There is one wildlands that is a goal to win the game, but we've neither seen that one nor have I ever taken that route so I can't say what it's like though I do know it is a series of 3 quests one after the other.
I was really contemplating whether I could take him on before... all that happened.

@Hanzoku: I do have the money for a second group, and actually have been using one to protect my cities to the west. However, without a hero to lead them I'm hesitant to put them up against anything really challanging. As you've seen, I've been winning battles because I prevent the enemy from hitting me at all, if it was a slugging match then I would be having many more casualties like with the spiders.

@Neonivek: As far as I know there isn't, though I can get a factions sovereign as a hero if they become a vassel to me. Umber can build a unit called a Sion which is a single model unit that gains levels like a champion, but can't use the weapons, armour or items I've been finding.
"Path of the Govener" is used for promoting city growth. It decreases unrest and I think increases growth and gildar generation while the hero is present within the city. It's not useless, but with 3 heroes I prefer to have them active in the world rather then sitting in a town.

You may want to consider an army to protect your holdings while Erala is away. Unless the game punishes you for it.

I can think of a few that do in fact heavily tax you on any unit not in your main force... or that make doing so pointless. Including one where if your main unit died you might as well restart the map because you cannot recover, even if it was the first fight.

If you had discovered sorceries, with 2000 mana worth of divine blessings, Elana would solo the entire game without resting.

@Neonivek: Nn, the game doesn't penelise me for having multiple troops around the place, other then paying the upkeep in gildar for them. I tend to only have one army because it's easy for me to forget I have multiple armies. Turtle and crush with one massive army is my usual tactic in strategy games.

@Stworca: Eh? Oh, do you mean the spells "Destiny's Gift" and "Destiny's Insight"? Those give boosts to stats and experience for 100 mana. Well, I could but where's the fun in not working for a victory? :P

Again, I try and explain everything that happens in the screenshots, but if I have missed something out and you wish to know about it, please mention it and I shall do my best to answer. I say this also partly because I forgot to take screenshots of a few events this time so some things might seem to jump about a tad.

When you've summoned the useless ice elemental, why not position it in front of your forces, closer to the enemies, to serve as a buffer that would stop their movement?
I know, that you've won the fight (good job!) but that way you wouldn't even have to possibility of losing  :o.

Furthermore, toss around a screenshot of Erala's character screen, if you can. I wanted to see how my own championette fares in comparison.

Lastly, it's going very well, despite the games cheap "And now dragons and epic level monsters will spawn all around your cities" moments.. wait.. you didn't have that yet? #*%@!( ^*(@^(?".
What you can do is always dependent on the map anyway, especially here, where you cannot just place cities where you want to (This is my biggest issue with the game.. hmm) losing cities is a common thing, unless you rolled all 6's and have great choke points.

Oddly enough... Warlock also does a "Powerful creatures spawn next to ALL YOUR CITIES!"... The only difference I guess is that they really overpower cities in Warlock unless you excessively pump up your units.

So in Elemental it is dangerous and annoying... and in Warlock it is just EXTREMELY annoying.

It is the worst if you build near any coast since Sea monsters were harder to deal with and always spawned strong. It is actually one of the silly aspects of the game... Boats basically became a lot less useful since monsters were always stronger then them.

The reason I sort of bring up Warlock in this a lot is because in many ways I put it in a similar boat as this game

It isn't a game that does anything particularly wrong, it just doesn't come together all that well.

Mind you with Warlock being the worst of the two games in this respect. With its terrible balance and gameplay elements that you will NEVER use because it doesn't pay off in time (I am speaking of the other worlds in Warlock. I can easily gain an unstoppable lead before I can reasonably explore and exploit those)

Yeah if the Majesty series did anything right it was that voice actor.

I sometimes found myself reading in game dialog in his accent.

Is Warlock a fun game? I look at it and it seems to be a mod for Civilization V. :P Though I like a game with varied factions.

Updates Ho!

@Stworca: I hadn't thought of that to be honest, I simply summoned the ice elemental right next to the caster. The things too slow to move too much during battle usually. Plus all the spiders liked webbing everything ::)
