Oddly enough the implication would be that immediately after this the Titans would come back and stomp you.

Very nice. This would also seem to imply that Erala got that dragon mount she wanted. :P

Of course, I get the feeling Erala (and the Urxen) are probably a bit better suited to conquering the world than ruling and shaping it... but I'm sure she wouldn't do anything silly like open a gate to another world just to gain more foes to conquer, right? :P

As usual, when faced with an indestructible gate, the game forces you to track down magical enchantments and legendary weapons instead of, ya know, a ladder:P

Nonetheless, excellent LP!

I don't think they wanted to insult waerloga too much. Imagine his reaction if he could've flown out at any time :P

Besides, I think the game does state the gate has an enchanment on it, I wouldn't be too suprised if it was a magic barrier that covered the pit.

Well done!

Well played and a fantastic read. The pictures of the various lords and champions were a fun addition. Excellent work, there.

Also, I noticed the other day that a new version is out that promises a better AI.

Hopefully if you do another LP of this the computer will give you a better challenge.

Well, that was a really cool LP. One of the best I've read on these boards. Congrats Mech!

Very nice LP, sir, well done!

I ignored the original Elemental due to the horror stories about it and my low-ish trust in Stardock anyway, but I may pick up this version when I get the funds since I used to love Master of Magic and this might be a vaguely competant successor at last.

Honestly? it really isn't.

The key to Master of Magic in my mind is the high focus on magic and especially high powered magic.

This game really isn't that, or at least it doesn't feel like that.

I did say 'vaguely competant' rather than 'truly worthy'. :P

To me, the key of MoM was actually the fact that all the races were distinct and yet for the most part relatively balanced (flying warships and paladins aside). That and the fact that it was Civ I with Heroes of Might and Magic gameplay thrown in and done well... and multiple maps was also nice.

You know I hear that but actually playing the game... the races were extremely similar with very few exceptions. They differ often in just how they function mechanically.

Looking back from 2013, yeah... but in '94 this kind of difference was amazing. Gamers today are so spoiled.

Well given that the Dragonkin play entirely different then the Elves... The difference is still good.

But it does overlap in several places.
