But... You kill dragons all the time in this game... and you could even clear the land of dragons. You could even just kill him before the dragons rally.
Nobody said the game is good.
I thought Mech#4 implied it...
I like the game, it has a nice sense of progression and I enjoy the magic system as well as the roleplaying elements. To me it feels a lot like Master of Magic (of which I've admittedly only played a bit of) and has a degree of depth to spells that I don't often see (raise and lower land are an example there). The backstory doesn't get mentioned much, but what I know of it is displayed in game through events and the creatures you fight, as well as specific entities being present (such as Delin the fire elemental, who has a spell named after him).
I could say that I wish the teams were more unique, but that's just me wishing there was an undead faction. The game has it's own mythology and tries to stay away from too many cliches which is commendable, and I can always play Heroes of Might and Magic 5 to be an undead faction.
As you've all no doubt realised by now, I certainly do not play to maximum efficiency. I forget where my units are, don't always garrison my towns, have only broad long term goals beyond survival, and react to threats when they've already done something nasty.
I'll state it. I like this game, to me it is a good game. There's a few issues but they don't bother me enough to be beyond a tiny letdown.
@Stworca: You'll understand if I say that I'm further storywise in Dark Souls then you are, but my best weapon is +2 and my armour is +1.
These updates will be all up ons!
