The Imperials are the emperor's loyalists within the senate. They support him on almost every turn, and are generally from his relatives or members of families that were favored by past emperors. They are not well respected by the Optimates, who consider them to be cowards refusing to fight for their own rights, and they are the natural allies of the Populars, who believe the emperor may support them if only to undermine the more independant patricians.

The Optimates (Best Men) fight for an increased power of the senate and the nobility. Although they were originally the most powerful faction within the senate, the separation of both the Imperials and the Populars from their ranks have reduced them to a faction average in size and counting many enemies. They despise the Populars, the Novi Homines and the Imperials, but were often the allies of the Isolationists in the recent years.

The Populars desire an increased amount of rights for the plebs and the non humans. It is one of the more liberal factions - and as such they are the enemies of the Optimates and, in some cases, the Isolationists. They allied with the Imperials in the years following the rise of the first emperors, in an attempt to convince the ruler to give in to some of their demands.

The Novi Homines (New Men) are a band of mostly dwarven patricians who are fighting in the senate for more racial equality both in the plebs and the patricians between the humans and non-humans. Although they are mostly representing dwarves in their political struggle, some extremely liberal members of the group have proposed to extend their struggle to helping civilized elves out of misery, though most of these suggestions were laughed at. They are arguably the most neutral faction, being only enemies to the Optimates.

The Isolationists want the empire to improve the lands within its borders before reaching out to conquer more. They favor urbanism and are generally against unjustified wars (and even justified wars of conquest), preferring a centralization of the powers, mercantilism and isolationism. In their search for more political strength at home, they became the allies of the Optimates over the years.

Name: Kaeso Peregrinus
Gender: Male
Race: Dwarf
Appearance: Blond haired, blue eyed standing at 5'1" and sporting a rather formidable beard reaching his belt, Kaeso is by his racial standards a very handsome dwarf indeed, although he may still seem a little repulsive to humans. He is in generally good shape, but it is clear that he does not do too much intense exercise.
Bio: Born in one of the rare dwarven patrician families, Kaeso fought for most of his life to acquire his position as a senator, using his skill as a general to obtain a prestigious political position. After many years, he eventually became the most influential figure of the Novi Homines Faction, becoming its de facto leader, although there are many a rumor going around whispering that he did not obtain that post in a fully legitimate way. He is now 37 years old.

Name: Durant Aleron

Race: Human
Appearance: Displaying short brown hair and eyes which compliment a face almost always displaying a neutral expression, Durant is a man in his mid to late twenties, with around average height and weight at 1,78m and 75kg. His body is athletic as it is adequate to his past and position as the current Head of the Praetorian Guard and an accomplished fighter in his own right.
Bio: Born to a family of businessmen, Durant joined the legions of Hadria both due to believing in the Emperor's ideals and to reach a higher social standing than the one his family possessed. Always steadfast, loyal and a good leader to his man, he managed a meteoric ascension through the ranks thanks to indications of superiors and aclamation, up to the point his talent was heard of by the Emperor. Noticing both the man's potential and his reliability, he was inducted into the Praetorian Guard, and shortly afterwards, made praefectus thanks to his standing with both the Emperor and the rest of the Guard.

Name: Titus Severus.

Race: High Elf
Appearance: Titus is about 180cms tall, his very short black hair barely able to cover the scalp. His lanky build is suprisingly strong, more than able to carry the equipment a legionary was expected to on the march, and is fairly well toned at that. His large green eyes stand out from the rest of his face, serving as a distinguishing feature for his troops to identify him with.

Bio: Titus is a Primus Pilus of the legions, having to viciously claw his way into his current position though hard fighting on some of the more treacherous battlefields. He is a ferocious combatant in melee, unable to be flinched by a force that happens to outnumber him, particularly if they are less skilled than him in melee combat, or are unable to bypass his shield.

Appearance: Marcus is a tall, young man, barely in his twenties. He has curly, black hair, which is rather short and brown eyes. His nose is straight, but slightly bigger than normal Hadrians have. He is an atlethic fella, his overall build is still lean instead of bulky.
Bio:  Well, what about to say from an member of a patrician family? Marcus is like any other of his family. Seeking fame, land and money. Taught by a high elf slave, trained by his father in military tactics, Marcus, the son of Secundus, is one of many aspiring young talents in the Hadrian Empire.

Name : Crassius Curio
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Crassius is a is of average size and build with with head of brown hair and brown eyes. Of average statue and with a round face, he is not loooking very dissimilar-looking to his clients in the poorer strata of the society.

Bio: Crassius is a homo novus, his family fortunes have risen over past generations and he has found hiumself an heir to a moderatley rich family, albeit without necessary pedigree. His position places him well with the plebeians, and he is using his tongue and his purse to do as much as he can. Unlike other patricians, his plebeian roots allow him to deal in trade and petty business if needs be, as opposed to the well mannered patricians of the republican and imperial faction. He received neccesary education from expensive slaves and is knowledgable about politics. He is not driven by the notions of honour to the same extent as his peers, yet he is a rather stalwart person in his dealings with foreigners, believing himself superior to them.

Appearance : 5 ft 9 and very delicate, long wavy brown hair with a slim athletic figure and a full chest.
Bio : Julia was a very attractive child and received a great deal of attention from the sons of important men, her father was going to marry her off to gain some political influence but fortunately her mother talked him into offering her a choice, marry or join the army and so she accepted a posting in the army as a Legatus. She had received training as a child and had excelled in the command of cavalry forces as being a woman she had a much better grasp of the more subtle uses for a cavalry force then most men did.

Race: Dwarf
Appearance: About average height for a dwarf, Wulfric has a rather cheery appearance despite his former life as a mercenary though he does have a scar, a jagged line, across the lower part of his throat. Rather youthful looking for his age, 32 years, he has the usual appearance of one of the higher class citizens.
Bio: A well reputed mercenary during the earlier years of his life Wulfric gained a reputation for his bravery in battle and for his ability to convince men to stand their ground no matter the odds, during one battle he took an arrow to the throat and passed out to the belief that he would end up in whatever hell the Gods saw fit to throw him.

Instead when he awoke he found himself in a temple, the priests from there had found him near dead on the battlefield and had attempted to save him. Somehow in the end the managed to save his life, they said it was a sign from the gods that he had work yet to do. Wulfric took this to heart and set about trying to establish power for the religious order of the nation, he set out to found a militant group for the Order and to gain them power in the Senate as best he could.

Appearance:

Kora stands at 5'6" - an unnatural height for an elf of young age. She has light brown hair and a slim - almost lithe - body, a blessing which tells not of the hardships she endured other than a long scar on her left arm. Her complexion is of a light shade of ecru.

Bio:

The only daughter of a Legionnaire Evocatus, Kora was trained from birth in the ways of Hadria's militant arts, working under the ranks of the common legions and taking a penchant to her line of duty, she lived for the cause of her family's name in supporting the Emperor and his orders. Years pass, and it was only after long, ardous decades did Kora find her niche among the Sagittarii, the archers of the Hadrian military. Passionate, determined and as said by most, pugnacious, it took longer than most to reach her desired position in the army, bolstered by recommendations and the word of her allies.

Handpicked by their commander due to her...inconspicuousness, as well as by her steadfast loyalty, she was inducted into the personal guard of the reigning general, under command of the current Prefect. Her skill in hunting (learned as a youth alongside her father's servants) now improvised in her role as a Scout, now finally put into play.

Name: Chirema Serogino

Race: Human
Description: Standing at a height of around 175 CMs Chirema us certainly intimidating. Her physical build suggests immense excercise, with a lean body but powerful looking muscles. Her face is hard and unkind, and her short hair is a dirty brown. She has a number of small nicks and scars across her face, including one long deep one from her ear to her jaw.
Bio: She was born a Woodsman's daughter, and they both lived alone. She learnt many things and was very strong. Then, one day when she was 8 a bandit group rampaged through and killed her father and kidnapped her. There, she learned how to fight. Many fell underneath her blade, and she rose up to become leader of the bandits. She finally disbanded them and joined the military, and is now a high ranking commander.
