Hey.. Please correct me if I've done anything wrong here. I haven't read the entirety of the IC thread, and really don't want to. I'm currently trying to find the end-of-season summaries so that I can figure out what's what. If anyone else could give me a summary without them having to re-read the entire thread, or who simply would not mind doing so, I would be very appreciative.

Name: Marina Bemote

Gender: Female

Race: Dwarf

Appearance:Marina is a rather common, plain looking dwarfess. Her black hair is long, braided and tied into a pony tail at the back end of her head. Matching the colour of her hair, Marina's eyes are a very dark brown colour, making the iris and pupil almost indistinguishable. Upon viewing her teeth, one would see that a good three or four are missing, replaced by iron fittings. Marina makes no attempts to appear fancy or rich, she wears a simply leather armor, studded with small iron shards. When not indoors, she is often also seen wearing a helmet made from the same material as the rest of her armor.

Bio: Any place where people gather has criminals.. Any town has lots of criminals.. Any city has gangs.. Any capital city has enough gangs that some form together to form guilds. Marina grew up among one such guild in the city of Hadria, of the Hadrian empire. Her father, Thollask Bemot had worked for many years as both a fence and a smuggler in the guild. It was only natural that Marina would follow in his wake. As would be expected, she started off small, performing petty theft or simply going along on the smuggling jobs, learning the ropes, as you might call it.
Now, many years later, she has far surpassed where her father was in the guild. Marina is being considered by the guild leaders as a raid-master. There is even talk that she may be invited to take one of the masters seats. That is.. If she can prove herself more than a petty thief.

I realize the game revolves more around politics and wars than it does around in-city crime and such. But if my concept gets approved, I'd like to somehow find a way for Marina to try and attempt that her guild is in fact a noble house and its retinue from a dwarven city, come to Hadria to make an allegiance. Or some such.. Once again, please do say if I need to change anything, or of course, if my story does not seem eligible.

Ok, with the inevitable end to the senate immobility and passing of the bills, we should make list of them and what effect they have.We can either make a post in OOC or a page in wiki. Point is, someone must be willing to keep track of all laws and update the wiki/post as we go along. GMs could be expected to do it, but seeing how this is really a minute role that does not need any rolling or GM oversight, either emperor or one of playewrs can volunteer.

Appearance: Gragrar, aged 31, is rather average in appearance, about 6 feet tall, with dark, shoulder length hair. He has a beard covering most of his jaw but hanging only a few centimeters beneath his chin. His eyes are brown and he has a slightly muscular build, strong enough to hold his own in combat but still stay sufficiently agile.
Bio: Gragrar Jynson is the bastard son of a lesser noble and a courtesan from a far away land. Unable to follow his family's line of succession, he became a local lord's retainer ensuring his safety and doing as his lord asked. After his liege was assassinated, he was tried in court for treason and sentenced to execution. After an unlikely turn of events, Gragrar escaped and boarded a ship on the way to Hadria. Here, Gragrar is attempting to regain his position as retainer for a local noble, and perhaps one day become a noble himself.

Bio: Gragrar Jynson is the bastard son of a lesser patrician and a courtesan. Unable to follow his family's line of succession, he became a senators cliens, ensuring his safety and doing as was asked of him. After his liege was assassinated, he was tried in a false court for treason by a furious relative and sentenced to execution when he was around the age of 26. After an unlikely turn of events, Gragrar escaped and boarded a ship to a foreign land, inhabited by other races and civilizations who would not care what had occurred in his past among other humans. After spending 5 years among other races, a woman arrived claiming to be Gragrar's mother, she came to tell him that his father had died of an incurable disease and that his father's line had fractured after two of his brothers-in-law had a duel over who would become the new head of the family. The duel had left one of them dead and the other with an infection, which he died of shortly after. Gragrar Jynson commandeered a new ship back to Hadria, as of now, he is attempting to regain his position as cliens for a politician, and perhaps one day continue the dynasty of his own family.

If there is anything wrong with it let me know and I will fix it.

A few specific things I'm unsure about:
The "Far Away Land" - Not sure of the empire of Hadria's knowledge of continents or countries outside their influence, if they don't have any/you don't want any characters coming from there, I'll just remove the element of a far away land and make the backstory more local. -Slightly Edited
The Length of the Biography - I have kept it a little short as to keep the character a little bit more open ended. If this is a problem I'll add more fluff/content to the biography. -Expanded
Not A Noble or Soldier at Start - If this is a problem I'll just expand the current back story to include how he becomes a noble/soldier.

The Prominence of Retainers in Antiquity - If anyone can enlighten me as to their existence/non-existence I'll change that bit. -  The Equivalent of the Roman Antiquity Era are Cliens

Well, first off is that we aren't medieval nobles, more like roman-style patricians and such. The second one is about your backstory via the actual content of it, rather than the length. One problem with it that humans are more native to this part of the world than anything else. Anywhere else is more or less controlled by other races.

I think the closest thing to a retainer would be the cliens thing they had going. Since we're all power-hungry fucks, I don't think you'll have difficulties finding a patron. :p
