For those complaining about the amputation, and Lee dying anyway. It
really makes more sense if you know how the infection works (Got this info from the wiki (specifically:
http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Zombies#Zombie_Bites). Basically, it's not the zombie virus that kills (which wouldn't make sense, since everyone's already infected), but a
pretty nasty infection (imagine getting all the bacteria from a rotting corpse into your bloodstream).
So the bite
could actually be treated,
but it would, probably, require immediate amputation before the first symptoms show, Lee ended up fainting from the infection, before they decided to amputate his arm, so that's a fail.
The bite, and the amputated stub, should also be cleaned and disinfected. And the amputee should have liberal amounts of strong antibiotics for quite some time. They didn't have any of these things, and forgot to even give him anaesthesia! So... Fail.
Not to mention having a clean and
safe environment, the infectee should be lying in bed recoverating (not a word), not, and i repeat
not, getting into further contact with zombies, spraying their guts all over him and, with absolute certainty, reinfecting him even if he wasn't before... So yes, Lee didn't have a snowballs chance if hell of surviving the bite.
Note: I am by no means a medical professional, i'm merely using my basic knowledge of biology, and a dose of common sense for this rant. All info should be taken with a grain of salt, and should by no means be taken as advice.
