Then wait to buy it as a whole and play it as a whole, at $25 hell $15 or less if you wait that long, it was more than a meal here in total.

I probably will, I have bought Telltale games before and always felt kinda empty.

Mind you I only completed Wallice and Grommit (In which continuity can be considered minor to the enjoyment of each episode) and Back to the future where it just couldn't make any bangs after a point.

Also I SO can beat these faster then 10 hours each. Unless you mean 10 hours for all the episodes. >_<

It just isn't worth the empty feeling when there isn't a better game out there.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Neo, I don't think its possible to beat these 'fast', there's just too many long cut scenes and long conversations.  Half the time if you choose an instant response, you've got to wait for some other character to stop talking, anyway, before your response kicks in.  The dialogue is NOT the standard 'please let me skip past this crap' game dialogue.  I've never played Telltale games before this one.  I've read and am a big fan of the comic books and I completely assumed that Kirkman was the actual writer for the storyline, it was that dead on in tone and 'decision' making (far more so than the TV show).  I was pretty surprised it wasn't him.  If you end up disappointed with the story quality here, god help you man, you might as well quit games and just read books.

This game was the equivalent of both watching and participating in one long, kickass Walking Dead movie.  I bought it at $15 on Halloween I think midway between Season 4 and 5 so I basically played it in an episode-a-night bender.  Totally worth it compared to the crap I've paid for in movie theaters.

(and don't go in thinking there's much 'game' mechanics here - the game mechanics are simple as dirt.  Either mash a button really fast, or move your mouse to the right spot, plus the standard 'find the right item and do something with it' puzzle mechanics.  Its the interactive story and dialogue that makes this game what it is.)

Ohh I see this is Jurrasic park / Heavy Rain style.

Where it is less an adventure game and more, things happening game. Please note I like Heavy Rain, I am only seperating the difference between this and lets say Monkey Island.

"This game was the equivalent of both watching and participating in one long, kickass Walking Dead movie"

I really wasn't asking about the quality... I am sure it is good in that respect.

I was talking more about how the episodes line up with eachother. Since it was my major issue with bitesized adventures is how it always feels like they are over before they begin.

"The dialogue is NOT the standard 'please let me skip past this crap' game dialogue"

Compared that I tend to exhaust every single dialog option in these games, I never thought it was. It is just that by experience these games take about 3 hours an episode without walkthroughs playing for the first time. Which for 5 episodes is about 15 hours. Which means this game is shorter then usual.

Where it is less an adventure game and more, things happening game.

I haven't played either Jurassic or Heavy, but this statement is pretty accurate.  I'd say this game is equal parts 'things happening' (where your input is mostly some button mashing and easy mouse aiming) plus part 'dialogue' branching where you deal with the other characters and try to keep things together.  In both the action and the dialogue, the game constantly presents major survival decisions to you, with limited time to make them.  There are 'solve a quick puzzle' breaks but they're light compared to most adventure games; they're there mainly to offset the pace and let you wind down a little between the next burst of story.

I played Ep 1-4 almost back to back (different nights), and they line up nearly exactly like watching 4 straight eps of a drama - right down to having "next time/previously on Walking Dead..." intro/outros, and short time lapses story-wise between.  They are seamless, continuity-wise - characters remember what you say and do from previous episodes and will bring it all up again in relevant conversations.  Storywise, since your idea of a bite and mine may differ, I can't say much more... YMMV.  Since I pretty much could play all the Episodes back to back, to me it really felt more like a single large story - a full meal, rather than a series of bites.  Steam says I have 19 hours on the game, and that's with a 2nd playthrough at midway of Ep3.  So 2 to 2.5 hours an Episode is about right.

I wonder who's Clem's VA. I'd like to see an interview with her, regarding the game, cause she did a pretty good job on acting there.

Specifically when I played Back to the Future each episode was set around an introduction to middle point to Climax. Thus each new episode felt like you had to restart your engine.

The problem was that because each section was so self contained, even though it was just one large story, it felt less like one story and more like a series of stories that you can put together. Thus when I played them one after the other with the idea that this was "one story" it gave me the same issues you get when you read a book that has constant climaxes, introductions, and quiet moments. A sort of emotional backlash that dulls you to the story and makes the experience feel empty.

It wasn't the game's fault it was more that by the time "I" personally settled down into the game and felt like "Ok, now it is going" I finished the game and I had the next game to play. It just takes me too long to really get into the grove of any individual episode and I cannot crossover grove to the next.

It really turned me off these episode adventure games. (Mind you, Wallace and Grommit was the same but that game didn't put importance on continuity.)

But why I ask is because I feel if a game managed to intrigrate each episode better so it feels more like a collective whole with flowing motion, rather then a HUGE stop sign, moving from one episode to the next. That it would simply allow me to enjoy these episode games.

Here you go. Other voice actors are present in the interview too.

Well, I didn't like the episodic system (first time playing a Telltale game) but that's probably the only thing I didn't like. Also, if you check the internet and read about decisions or do a second playthrough you'll see the decisions are not really that big but they still kept the illusion and that's good enough for me. It's impossible for devs to make a game with this many choices.

There are a few plot holes too.

But mistakes like these are ought to happen in a game like this. Regardless, this is still the game of the year in my opinion.

The only thing that (would have) bothered me about the episodic nature is the release delay from episode to episode.  When Season 2 comes out, I'll wait to buy it when its almost complete.

That said, I STRONGLY recommend anyone who liked this game to read The Walking Dead comics. If you are also watching the tv series you may find it's starting a little boring but it gets really interesting as Rick becomes morally dark grey. You are missing one of the best comic series. Trust me and give it a try. you'll thank me later.

This entire topic is covered in spoilers yet you are spoiling part of the character development of Rick. Spoiler alert! :P

You could read one issue of The Walking Dead and be able to make an educated guess about the direction of Rick's character development.

Well, this. Not only by reading one issue maybe but it's obvious how Rick is going to turn out at some point. He still manages to surprise you by taking some extreme actions though. Also, pretty much everyone at some point levels up their Badass skill because it seems you gotta be badass and do morally questionable things to survive in a world like this. Just look at Lee.

And I don't think I spoiled anything since I didn't mention what he did, considering the amount of "WHAT THE FUCK?" moments in the comics :P
