Explosive is a word.......

It's a word to make an explosion out of something, I want a literal hunk of high-explosive material.

or you could put a rune on an object, which will trigger an explosion at your thought of wanting the explosion....

True, but that would take four pool; minimum. One for the object being enchanted, one for the explosive word, one for the element of the explosive, and one for the enchantment word.

While just having a word for "go boom" cuts that down to one pool. Plus I enjoy eyebeams, and I would absolutely love doing the below:

• (A) Expel cats made of high explosive; from my eyes.
• (B) Shoot a deluge of alcohol onto those cats; from my eyes.
• (C) Fire napalm toward my homemade firestorm of kitten death; from my eyes.
• (D) Laugh, and laugh heartily at my roaring hearth.

With explosive word and eyebeams:
Seven pool

With explosive word but no eyebeams:
Four pool

With eyebeams and no word for explosive:
Ten pool

Without eyebeams and no word for explosive:
Seven pool


Plus a dragon that breathes explosions, a hand-held nuke cannon, a hair-sensitive pressure plate that would detonate an entire floor...

The possibilities are endless.

I've given the concept of "balance" a decent berth in this game, think about the weird sh*t most of us have already been able to do. Weapons with a mind of their own, sixty feet long lasers of pure energy, shotgun blasts of wind, suicidal humunculi, giant hands of demonic evil trying to grab people, biotic enhancements of every conceivable type and material...

I meant more in the the sense of "... in an enclosed space" than any silly pointless notion of balance.  PW has already implied there's a combination of words (and presumably a serious overshot) that would just kill everyone here.

Just reading this page, and this page alone, is a pretty good explanation of why I love Bay12. But there is still a sad lack of magma and Dwarven Wine present. That, or dead elves.

((Shadow element would be fun, especially the kind that can interact with other shadows. Slash someones shadow and it would be like the person got slashed too. But then again, maybe it's too much alike the void.))
