Where pirating is concerned, it's pretty much that I consider piracy okay if it's something that I don't want, if that makes sense. As in, if the game has not done well enough to me to make me want it, then not buying it is fine because I wouldn't buy it anyway. From there, I might buy it (Out of the 3 games I've ever downloaded and it wasn't legal, I've bought 2. One because it didn't have a demo, the other because it didn't have enough information about it OR a demo. The one I didn't buy presented itself quite well but wasn't really that great.).

I'm pretty sure it's not actually illegal if it's from a US server that it comes from, because it's not breaking any laws over here anyway. Apart from that one guy who got extradited recently because of whatever reasons your politicians over there came up with.

I view piracy as consumer empowerment. Because of piracy every piece of media I purchase is because I wish to support that game and the company that would profit from my purchase, not because I simply have the desire to watch/play/listen to that media.

In this way, companies are being forced to pay more attention to what consumers will actually purchase, what they will tolerate and what they won't. An example of this is DRM. If a game has particularly annoying DRM, I will pirate the game rather than purchase it. More and more developers are realizing that DRM doesn't decrease the chance their game from getting pirated, rather it increases the chance.

I still purchase media of all types, both AAA and indie, for example I recently bought XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Indie Game the Movie, however it is because I choose to support the creators, not because I simply wanted their product.

I don't pirate games often, but whenever I do it's because-
A.  I can't find the console for the game anywhere (Parent's won't let me use Ebay or anything
B.  I can't find the game anywhere (Same as above)

Why was I expecting a 'most interesting man in the world' comment there, Falcon?

'I don't normally pirate games, but when I do, it's because of DRM.'
Totally unintentional.  But since you brought it up-
'I don't often pirate games, but when I do, it's because seriously, ---- EA.  You guys suck.

So... move away from Belarus if you can?
On the other hand, the Belarusian government doesn't care about file-sharing at all. None of those pesky copyright guardians are present in Belarus (they don't know where it is located, apparently) So, you can download as much as you want without any threat of lawsuits from copyright holders.
Those who doesn't care about translation can just buy Russian licensed boxed copies of video games (which work perfectly in Steam)
So... move to Belarus, pirate games, then leave Belarus?

Would you keeping the games be allowed?
Its cool as long as you don't tell anyone willing to prosecute you over it.
