Journal Entry 1 : Embark

While Gastark can be a difficult place to live, it is a gift from the Gods, and we must do as They instruct. Since Armok blew life into us dwarfs, we've ruled over the stones. It is time once again for us to take up the dwarven calling and take hold of a new location. The royal crown at this time has decreed the halls of the Mountainhome shall be closed to all. This is due to the recent vile plaques spreading through the lands.

I've prepared and studied for this opportunity. I've served the Miner's Guild since I was able to swing a pick, but on my off-time I've sought fellowship with the Gods. I've studied in the medical arts for the day when They shall send me forth to spread Their commands. The calling came a few weeks ago, when the decree was sent forth and those exiled were told to form an outpost for all those unable to get inside Mountainhome before their entrance doors seal. While I was not exiled, I volunteered myself to go, so I might be the voice of the Gods.

Today is that day! I've brought what few items I own, including my trusty pick. There are to be seven of us total. I shall not make judgement on them now. I will let their actions show their true nature before I judge their moral character. I pray the Gods watch over us, and that the six other's souls are blessed either before, or through my works.

Thanks for fixing the typo.

Ok, added you to the dorf list with: Animal Trainer (2), Fisherman (3), Fish Cleaner (1), Fish Dissector (1), Record Keeper (3).

What an odd skill-set.  :o
Record Keeping and Fishing both take a dwarfs full attention.
I do hope we train war cheetahs or something cool!

lol, yeah its a weird skill set. But you should be ok; once the records are updated I never see a book-keeper tend to enter their office again, and at least initially I tend to only have Medium Accuracy. Furthermore, the lake might well freeze over and you won't have much fishing to do in that case. :D

Nice character introduction, Brewster!

I'll take a mechanic with some masonry skills. I'll also take a turn.

Ok, awesome. We really could use a grower and chef and ideally a secondary miner, so are you ok with something like this
Mechanic (3), Mason (3), Grower (3), Engraver (1)?

If so, our final dorf is probably locked into a Miner (5), Chef (5) or somesuch combo.

Also, who's ok with female dorfing among you? I'll try to accomodate that as well, however.

I'd rather have Winter be male, if that's posible.

Yeah, that's a good skillset to use.
Jolly good. You have any preferences on gender, Aussie?

I'd rather have Winter be male, if that's posible.
I figured that one from Gentleman Explorer :D

can i have a dude?
Ok, cool.

Looks like I'm restarting if we get 4+ ladies generated. XD

Oh well, wouldn't be the first time. :D

No real preference on gender. With dwarven society being pretty much egalitarian, my character idea can work both ways.
