ARM OK was a flag in one of Toady One's earlier games. It meant that the arm body part was in a good enough shape to wield a weapon, IIRC

Hehe, your posts are fun to read.
Toady One and Threetoe are the the founders of Bay 12 Games and the creators of Dwarf Fortress. Their previous project was "Slaves to Armok: God of Blood", a 3D action fantasy RPG thingy. After a few years of developing it, they decided to focus on Dwarf Fortress instead and called it Slaves to Armok: God of Blood: Chapter 2: Dwarf Fortress as a nod to the previous game, and also because long titles are funny.

Now, where did the name Armok come from? In one of the really early and also unreleased projects of Bay 12 Games, Dragslay, there was a variable to check the number of usable arms. It was called arm_ok , and because that sounds kinda cool, it became the name of the god of blood.

I wonder if the game has become odd.

Founders and Entire Development Team.  Seriously, the entire game is made by two (Technically one) person.  Feel the awe.

First, I would recommend to spell better, also to start playing and trying to support your dwarves, and making them happy. Then, you try to do challanges, try new things and watch youtube and browse the Wiki But not too far after that, you will be experienced, and you will realise Minecraft was inspired of Dwarf Fortress, and you should try and play other 12 Bay games, such as Liberal Crime Squad. I hope you stay. Good luck, peasant.

The origin of the name is known.  Who/What Armok is, still seems to be up for debate.  I tend to think each player is Armok, though the blood part varies from player to player.  Sadism, carelessness, merciless pragmatism, accident, science, wargaming, there's no shortage of reason to bleed dwarves, invaders and everything else.

And yes, I already know Dwarf Fortress is the "mother" of all games such as Minecraft, Towns, etc.  :D
A lot of us are quite anal about grammar and spelling. See your fixed post above, untranslatable text in [].

Wow, I'm having a bit of trouble reading them posts and I'm a native english speaker.

Some practice with spelling and structures would help keep things clear!
