Is the music going to be old school 8-bit stuff, or...?

I'm SUPER interested in both Cultist and Feyscape! That said, RedReign does some really good 8-bit stuff and might take interest in your projects--perhaps he and Willfor can do a collab or something  :o

Sorry for the lack of updates.
During the break my library was closed, and I still can't get internet at home, meaning I have once again had to go on without online support.
Been making some progress, but some of it needs to be reworked. A lot of times while programming you can the chance for a quick and easy fix that ends up making your life hard in the long run. Your code turns to spaghetti and weird glitches and bugs come up. Doing my best to find solutions that avoid that. I have a working prototype, but I'm really not happy with the code used for it.

Also, sorry, but I don't have my laptop or flashdrive with me right now, so no screenshots.

No problems, man, just glad to know this project is still getting worked on.
Can't wait for that playable prototype, what can we expect in it?

Very first prototype?
Walking around, z levels, water. Maybe if I feel like it some critters that you can't do much with. Also source code for any programmers out there. Nothing too special.

Your code turns to spaghetti and weird glitches and bugs come up.
This is just a product of time. Small mistakes, inconsistencies, laziness - the minor things pile up, and you have to go back and spend so much time smoothing them out. But better to spend that time than to throw up ugly games that are nearly unplayable.

Thinking we need a new ‼ ‼ word.
‼Progress‼
FTFY.
Though I dearly hope this game doesn't burst into flame.

Ideally you can build things in a way where as these sorts of issues never show up, even after years of development. Perfect object oriented programming should be perfectly open to expansion. Sad to say, this isn't an ideal world, and I am not a perfect programmer. Still, I do what I can.

Hopefully this won't end up in flames, although that would be pretty impressive. Most projects just sort of get forgotten over time, so at least flames is better than that, but far from the target outcome.

Which FTFY is that? Because I don't see any changes.

Basically a multiplayer side scrolling Roguelike with a procedural generated world and levels.
This was all I actually needed to read. I love it already. :P Good luck!
+1. I can't wait until FeyScape or Cultist is playable.

Still working! I promise! Currently I have been putting a little tiny bit of effort into a different project, but only as a bit of an experiment that has to do with world generation. It might be significant, depending on how well things work out, to story driven progression in Cultist.
Feyscape doesn't really face the same problem, as the world builds around the story, rather than the story building around the world.

UPDATE!
I have internet at home now, so I can finally do what I have been longing to for months!
So fun fact: Microsoft has forsworn XNA, and a roguelike exclusive to windows is forsaken by the gods. Between these two factors, I have jumped ship over to the wonderful world of Java! This means several things
1. Any OS will be able to run these games.
2. I will need some time to set up everything in OpenGL propperly.
3. Most likely I will be able to have more going on without a framerate drop, thus more hectic gameplay when I want it.

So hold out, I am back to square one, but moving on.

I was under the impression that Java is forsaken by both the gods and the demons though...  :P

I'll get back to work on the soundtrack.
