"The only way to win, is not to play", I suppose.

The RG's a troll.  Feed the troll, the troll gets stronger.

Leave this planet, we have better stuff to do.

Head out, keep an eye on RG as we do stuff on other worlds. Head back if RG moves off the planet.

You decide that, should you create more life, the RG will have more to destroy. You flee the planet, and come to another planet. It's Goln, a water planet in the same solar system as the RG's planet.
You talk to the god of Goln, and he seemed appalled.
"So... your first instinct when a powerful being gains even more power, and then wants to conquer everything, is to run away and taunt him into the rest of the world!?
"Precisely! I'm glad we share our views!"
"We don't. Not in the slightest. You forbid the gods from leaving their planets to prevent us from banding together like this. Granted, what he is doing is forbidden as well, but my entire religion is based on honor and nobility, even in war! Do you expect my followers to remain followers if I go against the religion that is worshiping me? No! They will cast out my teachings! Begone!"

Power: 2
RG's Power: ?
You do not know the status of the world from your position on Goln.

I've read this several times and I'm still not sure what it's supposed to mean. What powerful being is gaining more power? When we showed up, the rogue god hadn't even done anything, and all he did afterwards was make some plant eating creatures. And what's wrong with that? Isn't every god assigned to a planet with the expectation that they'll create life and grow in power?

And what do you mean "taunt him into the rest of the world?"

Anyway, I think we're going about this all wrong. We're the Overgod. We created the universe and all the planets and gods. And gods in this universe gain power through their creations, right? So seems to me like we should be collecting power from gods, not wasting our time making plants and animals or hand-holding mortals through civilization.

Start collecting power from the gods we created, just like they're collecting power from the life that they create.

Call it a power tax. They do whatever they want on their individual planets, and we collect 1% of the power they generate. How many planets are there in this universe? A couple billion?

Also I think we should create a Valhalla later. If we are the god of gods we may get bored, so creating a colosseum world where we get to see the greatest heroes and villains of all Universe may be a good idea for a later hobby. Think of Final Fantasy Dissidia. (And it might be fun to create a false plot to explain them the importance of them fighting under the patronage of two fictional gods just to tell them later that it was a way to spend our time)

Maybe 5%, but we use 50-75% of our power to help out gods who need it.

Hold'yer horses. Get the basics in place, make sure we can pay for Valhalla before making it.

LordBucket is rocking this thread.

Instead of residing on a planet, since we're the Overgod, how about a star?  We could probably absorb energy from it, not to mention create "life" that can wipe out everyone elses, if we so wished.

Alright, so we don't seem to be agreeing on anything. You spend a while just sitting around and picking your godly nose.

Set up a Power Tax of 2-3% on all gods. Use the power to persecute nonmember gods, then to improve conditions around the universe.

Disregarding the fact that chaos isn't always evil(freedom and individuality, creativity, adaption, etc., all chaos)...

Go back to original planet. Create flying creature that can reproduce, eats Korshik, and whose waste fertilizes the Tuber.

Alright, so we don't seem to be agreeing on anything. You spend a while just sitting around and picking your godly nose.

Everybody agreed on power taxing the gods.

1) I proposed it
2) Rhyme said to "also" create Valhalla, implying "yes do power tax, and do Valhalla too."
3) Greatwyrm suggested we charge a different percentage
4) NRDL said I was rocking the thread, which pretty obviously sounds like agreement
5) Greatwyrm just now posted a followup also confirming the power tax on gods

Everybody agrees on the power tax on gods.

EDIT:
Except Rolepgeek who ninjad while I was typing. :P

The biggest disagreements are how much and what to do with it.
We started as a god, now we're Congress!
