I know man, I'm starting now.
I've been working on finals all week and slept almost all of yesterday.
This was pretty close to being the worst possible week.

You know what, fuck it, I've been doing finals for a month, I've slept maybe 15 cumulative hours this week, I've been working nonstop on this for 5 hours and it's nowhere near acceptable. Didn't know week three would be this week.

Skip me,
maybe see you week 6 or something.

In an effort to not waste your time, I've included a heavily processed version of my image, produced thusly to hide the imperfections.

It depicts our hero ending his sojourn with the cave-child now that the long rains have cleared.

As I previously whined, I hate it and you can skip me if you want.
I have somewhere to be,

You could ask for a day or two more on the piece if you want, or heck, even improve it later on, no need to get stressed about it :)

The piece itself is rather rough and could use some detail work but other than that the general idea is there, and frankly you don't need much more than to convey the idea, the details are just extras to tell more of the story if you want them to.

Sorry, I've just been really stressed out lately and wanted to make something really cool looking.
Is it okay if I polish it a bit and resubmit it in this one's place after a while?
I don't think it will interfere too much with digital hellhound's stuff.

Fine by me. And, again, don't expect anything fancy like clear lines... or colours... or anything even vaguely resembling realistic anatomy from me. My scanner's not the best and my tablet continues to hate me as well.

...but I'm putting my heart and soul into it, alright?

Just a reminder, after Hellhound posts his piece, we'll have the next round of dibs calling start afterwards. Again four people, four timeframes.

And no problem at all with that Robocorn, we'll take the current piece as a placeholder :)

I'm probably going to finish and scan my piece tomorrow. It doesn't have colors or anything - I originally wanted to paint it but I've been kinda busy with school and now Christmas stuff. I do have an urge to start over and make a new one more like my original mock-up, but I'll try to resist. And again, it's nowhere near the quality of your pieces.

Right, Chirstmas break is over, DH you have to submit your piece by the 1st after that the next round starts, with or without you :P

Anyways, with that we open the dibs season, the slots are the following:

1.1.2013.-8.1.2013. -???
9.1.2013.-16.1.2013. - Jopax (as in me, ha, I get to pick first :P )
17.1.2013.-24.1.2013. -???
25.1.2013-1.2.2013. -???

And there you have it folks, the second post will be updated once the dibs are in and DH has hopefully submitted his piece, which is to say the 1st of the next year.

Err, yes, I'm on it. It's hard to work on a holiday, okay? I'll get it done before the deadline, I swear!

i want in! i rather take the earliest slot 1.1.2013 -8.1.2013.

so what are the theme again? can you do anything as long as you put that traveler somewhere in the picture? or does he have some story that it should revolve around?

The traveller is heading for the great temples in the east. In my picture he was planning on heading to the great plains, but he can go wherever he wants I guess. Would be nice if we started using elements from eachothers' pictures to form a more coherent narrative.

Yeah, nothing stopping you from doing that really :)

rhesusmacabre did it nicely with his first image, showing the mountains in the background with the sun setting, giving the idea of where he's headed.

I know i didn't sign up for a turn, but I got a new tablet, and was drawing while thinking of this thread.

I figured I might as well share it, and if you feel like cannonizing it, insert it wherever it seems appropriate in the timeline:

That's pretty awesome.

I wouldn't mind integrating it, say having something lead to it in my piece, so it neatly fits between weeks 2 and 3. Then again you could always sign up and do more :)

It's awesome, and makes me wish I could colour mine, buuuuuuut no access to paints and a tablet that hates me. In related news, I scrapped the third iteration, and the fourth try is shaping up much better. I'll finish and scan it tomorrow... for real this time.
