(Did not know where else to post this)

Or more specifically, username cleanout.
If you look at the member list, you see HUNDREDS of pages filled by Escaped Lunatics with no posts and no activity for several years. Just proposing that any person with 0 posts and no activity for 6 months be deleted. That is all, don't know what else to say really

I don't think there's any automatic way to do this. Someone would have to go through and manually delete every one, and no-one with the power here has the time.

I'm sure some chronically shy lurker will be livid about this.

I'd petition this, but this is really hard to do if nothing's going to automate the process.

I don't like this idea.  I'm glad there are 70k bogus accounts because it means that my postcount is higher then 99.87% of the forum.  I am the .1%!

Down with mainiac!

And then I realize that I have nearly twice as many posts as him in half the time. :|

If it could be automated, sure. Otherwise, who's got the time to waste deleting thousands of accounts? Certainly not Toady.

There are currently 48900 accounts with zero posts, incidentally.  Out of 72595 total.  67% have zero posts, and I'm really not sure why.

On 17 August, 2015, the hordes of unused accounts will activate all at once. A horde of spambots tens of thousands strong will descend upon us like a storm of cheep nike shoes 100 $ amidst mountains of housing market on upswing purchase loan now for great making interest.

Maybe many of them signed up to post a suggestion like "I think DF should have graphics" or "Why doesn't Toady work as a team?" but then saw that someone else did the same thing.

I know that phpBB has the option of clearing out dead accounts.

Killing 70,000 accounts would 503 the forum for days, if not weeks.  It's just not worth the hassle
