A megathread forum.  What consitutes a megathread?  Certainly not a 'very hot' thread of 15 whole posts...  Some forum games get ridiculously big.

I'd say anything that goes over 1000 posts? maybe 5000 posts? I'd say maybe even 10,000 posts, but the American Election megathread isn't quite there yet, but it's 652 pages and pretty damn extensive.

Anything over fifteen pages with standard view settings is long enough that it's a royal pain to try to jump in. Although, in my experience, threads that get that long are generally not particularly caring of the line of discussion for more than the previous five pages or so.

I'm pretty sure who ever built the software for these style of forums was inexperienced, indifferent or intoxicated.
It came as a throw in when Toady upgraded to a new server, didn't it?
