Is Slothman going to do something?
I suggest we should skip him.

Welp. It's now been a week since I PMed him and got no response. So that'd make it your turn, Objective.

My first adventurer got killed by bogeymen, the second by a hippo.

Drat.

I guess I'll make a fortress.

Hmm, it seems like there hasn't been much successful adventuring going on of late. I'd like to sign up for a turn, see if there's still some adventure left in this world.

I assume cheesing a bit with weasel-wrestling is allowed if i don't use the resultant 'legendary' fighting skill to fulfill the legendariness requirement?

I know I'm not in charge of the game anymore, but I would say that you can do whatever you need to ensure your survival, short of outright hacking, especially given the low success rate so far. I definitely did a lot of grinding with throwing and whatnot to get my guy to the finish. The old fogeys are getting awfully lonely in the retirement home, not to mention a bit nervous about the looks some of the dwarf staff are giving them...

If I remember correctly: I had a few issues with slowness at the retierment home so I temporarily "revealed" the map to see what was causing it. There was a dwarven necromancer in the arena fighting some of the (staff?) other members, I don't know if the fps drop was from him or something else but I never found out. Based on the necro part I was talking about, I doubt those "foggys" are bored.

Wait, what, there's a necromancer in the retirement home? ...There's an arena? Is my hangover causing me to miss something (likely enough), or has someone been playin' with my retirement home?

The necromancer would likely be an adventurer who learned necromancy, and then was retired there, I would expect them to indeed raise anything in sight, including museum exhibits. If the necromancer is one of our adventurers it might be wise to unretire him and retire him elsewhere.

As for the FPS slowdown; it seems like player fortresses in this version of DF become buggy after being visited or reloaded to often, somehow they start attracting huge amounts of animals, vermin, and other creatures until it slows down the FPS to a crawl. The same can be seen in Sunkengem in the museum succession game. I also know several fortress succession games had to be abandoned after too many reclaims because of similar issues. I am not sure if this is the problem here, did the site have an unusual amount of animals when it was last visited?

I suggest building a necromancer retirement home nearby.

I assumed it was an arena because multiple dwarves were in a large room some z levels down that to me looks like an arena. It could be something else entirely but since they were fighting, I don't know.
