The Vanguard
After the intial amazement of actually setting foot on an alien world, the colonists get to work. As the days pass the settlement slowly grows, centered around the 5 colony pods. Solar pannels are put down on the roofs, and wires are hung between them. The now emptied colony pods are then used as storage sites, were the scientists and hunters gather their prey, in order to prepare it for research. Amongst many normal terran species, there are also several unique specimens. This includes a large species of semiaquatic turtles, a variant on the komodo dragon and unfortunately, what appears to be a very persistant rodent, who have apparently infested your supplies. No permanent damage has been done yet, but the abundance of food might result in the escalation of the problem to a real plague.
The surroundings ... ( Please give a location on the world map)
Outside the ring of solar pannels that marks the end of the colony center, the ground is being plowed and farms are being erected. A variety of fields and plains has been prepared, from small field usefull for herbs, to larger fields to be used for mono, or duo crop rotations. Part of the fields have been installed next to the river, so that they be flooded for irrigation.
Quite a bit further, progress on the digsite had to be halted. While the work progressed well, a groundwater flood has undermined the fundaments and caused a partial collapse. The people have been evacuated in time, but all work on the site was lost.
HTI
Attempts to pull the colony pods from the water have been met with partial succes. Lifting the pods using the cargo ship is certainly a possibility, but the first one cracked and disintegrated under the pressure. The second one was lifted without much problems. The pods have been reconverted into a temporary base. Two have been turned into habitation, the other into an fieldheadquarters.
Supplies are varried. While are food supplies are rather low, our technological supplies are great. We got a robotic workforce of 400 bots, enough computers to let them work, several labratories worth of equipment, a pocket fusion power generator and a nuclear fuel cell as well production facilities for a variety of goods. We just need to put them together.
The surroundings appear to be mostly endless plains, and you haven't found any interesting features except for the river yet. You do get an interesting message via a shortwave radio frequency (shortwave is shortrange right)
Followers of the Machine God
The factory is installed, and is immediatly set to work. A variety of construction tools are created.
Finding food or arable soil in the surroundings of barren mountains is hard, but the valley's down beneath are certainly fertile, and the mountain rivers are filled with fish. The construction that was seen from the ship has also been observed more closely. While you couldn't get too close due to it's location, you did find out that it appears to be running, but you haven't seen a single human being nearby.
There's a variety of problems with the cargo shuttle. One of the engines has sucked in rocks, shredding the innards of the engine. Secondly, the wing has made a rather hard collision with the ground, possibly endangering the structural integrity.
The pod has been disassembeled, leaving only the outer shell which is currently used as protection for the fabricator installed inside.
House Argonian
The mining team immediatly struck gold. Or iron to be accurate. Preliminary scouting revealed a very accesible ore vein, and as such your miners have immediatly set to work exploiting it. Further exploring teams find nothing of interest though.
In order to protect the fledgeling colony, a militia is formed and outfitted, and they immediatly start training. In order to prevent a possible famine, the hydroponics installation is quickly installed.
The others quickly unload the remaining supply, and soon a settlement is founded. Mostly in the colony pods, but partially outside in improvised houses made from pannels taken from the pods.
The Lawmakers
Scouting of the surrounding area went well. It appears we landed in a dense jungle, though some parts of it are easily traversible. Even more lucky for us, there appear to be varying sorts of big wild. This should ensure our food supply for a while. Especially the giant lizard shops were good, and the snake wasn't wrong either.
Using lasers, (and sometimes even brute force for the smaller trees) we managed to make a small clearing for ourselves. It provides enough place for a firepit and some buildings, but won't be seen from the outside.
The others have been sent on various gathering missions, and while some thought this to be the prime opportunity to attempt an escape, they certainly underestimated our natural camouflage.
Unfortunately, we ate our last food yesterday, so we'll be completely dependent on hunting from now on.
Royal Marines Incorporated
The town was secured, and it was indeed found that it was completely uninhabited. Most buildings are just empty shells, with no furniture or anything to hint at their purpose.
Construction of a wall has been completed, and the town is now firmly under our control. The tanks outside the perimeter serve only to outline that purpose.
Gunships were send out, but harsh weather conditions, like a persistent fog forced them to return early. Nevertheless, they have scouted the immediate vicinity, finding no other life, nor anything interesting.
No town center was found, so you decide to set up the Headquarters in one of the pods, that just happened to land near the center of town. Not only is it already connected, it also has better armor than the buildings.
Getting the power production plant online was rather simple. One press on the button did the trick. Apparently, it's a fusion generator, but with a small hydroelectrical power plant to start it up.
Getting the production facility online is harder. It appears that it was only partly finished, though finishing the job was easy, thanks to a few spare parts from the pods. Sadly, this delayed the rest of the orders, and as such no pods could be converted.
Most of the buildingblocks appear to be rather tall, between 5 and ten stories on average. On the outskirts of town, there are a few smaller buildings, though their construction hints that they're simple not finished yet.

Neptune's Hand
You find a total of 3 settlements nearby. There's the HTI settlement to the East, but there are also 2 smaller settlements to the west.
Searching finds nothing interesting, just endless plains. However, one of your workers did manage to find (read fall into) a water source. The source's not polluted, and he's fine. There's also some reports from large animals inland, though you're not able to place them. It does reminds you of the beings that once used to inhabit the African Savannah. At least, they seemed similair to those you saw in the color books when you were a kid.
((Next turn will hopefully see more action, since several new mechanics will be activated, also don't forget to check yhr post just just under the Op for your stats))
