The room is in a word, cluttered. More specifically, cluttered with a variety of disassembled electronics and paperback novels.
Otherwise, it's fairly organized, everything else in its place.
Edgar goes through piling his stuff into the duffle bag recklessly. He briefly stops and looks wistfully at a particular battered hard-cover book.
He lightly sets it down in the bag, almost lovingly. He then goes into the kitchen to gather the supplies in there.
