Any fortress improvements in the upcoming version?
« on: November 16, 2012, 05:10:46 pm »

Wondering if there's any proper fortress level improvements inbound for the next new version. It's the only mode I really enjoyed. Thanks!

Trees are much larger now and are multi-tile/multi-z-level.
Climbing is in so we might see invaders climbing over walls or something similar.
You can now collect fruit from fruit trees.
There might be a small change in aggression of various dwarves (civilian and military) towards enemy units due to the lethal/non-lethal combat rewrite.
Movement speed and attack speed have been split, so there could be less drawbacks to fully armoring unskilled dwarves in heavy armor.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Invaders wont be climbing over walls.

In the more recent DF Talk, ToadyOne spoke about more diplomancy options for Forts, and also heavily suggested that it'll actually matter to your home Civilation where your Fort is, and your Fort location will affect events to the fort. (Like invasions, and megabeast.) And this may mean that we'll be getting the fabled Fort Starting Scenario.
