Android/Smartphone rant:
I have to admit I was more than a little disappointed when I got my phone for the first time, I found a lot of fun bite-sized games but nothing substantial which seemed like a huge waste, especially since every RPG I could find was action-based and I had to stop and wonder many times over the course of a few months why there weren't any solid turn-based RPGs since that seemed like the perfect genre to throw on a device you play mostly on the go. (It's starting to look like Square Enix is moving in to fill this RPG gap pretty recently, though)
Aside from that, more recently I'm a bit disgusted by all of these "Card Battle" games that are all just ripoffs of (assumption) Rage of Bahamut which all you do is collect, fuse and press a button to get experience through 'adventure' or something similar, and then there's the metric shitton of money fiending games that seem decent at first until your progress is halted because you need to throw real money at the game to move on. (I thought the MMORPG scene took it far, but smart phone games stepped it up to a new level)
Also... having to browse through comments trying to find a truthful rating/review is pretty annoying since everyone just pays to inflate the rating on the market.
Anyway, I've bottled this up for awhile and just haven't seen a thread anywhere I browse relating to this so there you have it lol.
Anyway, here's a list of games I found pretty fun so far.
Minifarm (Harvest Moon in a more... open environment?)
Plants War (small scale MOBA)
Call of Mini - Zombies (co-op shooting, becomes pretty blah after awhile, especially when you realize the games actually 2D, lol)
Velocispider (tilt based arcade shooting game, pretty short unless you purchase)
Dungeon Raid (pretty cool, hard to explain how it plays)
Beastie Bay (or any Kairosoft game really)
Spectral Souls (ported from the PSP i believe, and done so very well, however the last time i looked it had a pretty hefty price tag)
Some may have slipped through the cracks here as I've scoured the market many times and tried so many games...
