Scramble away stealthily. Head back towards the wagon.
Check him over for anything useful, we might need to leave in a hurry so anything holding water would be helpful for our survival and any weapons would be appreciated as long as they are not too cumbersome. Then do the above.

Forget Cal.  He doesn't see in the dark as well as us, and he's distracted by dying anyway. He won't be able to tell the others where we are, even with gestures. Keep the knife, sneak away from Cal and head back toward the wagon. Take a wide curving route that doesn't bring us too close to the other humans while we're going back there.

You spare a moment for poor, sweet Cal and hold his head up by the hair with your free hand.

"Sorry mate," you whisper, "was always going to be you or me."  You slit his throat and throw him back to the ground.  You wipe the knife off on his shirt and start crawling away, keeping low to the ground.  [Stealth: 2+0+4(Dark)=6] You get about a third of the way to the wagon when Jirn spots you.  You spit a curse and start legging it instead.  [Athletics: 7+0] By the time you get to the wagon the pair have nearly caught up with you, so you leap into the driver's seat and grab hold of the reins.

[Luck: 1] You have no idea how to drive a horse, and you don't even have a horse here.  The wagon is pulled by a solitary, stubborn old mule - and he's asleep, to make things worse.  You grab the reins and decide to resort to the old goblin axiom; If it doesn't work, whip it.

[Animal Handling: 5+0-5(Bad Luck)] The mule wakes up, kicks back and knocks you bodily off the wagon.  You hit the ground, welts welling up on your leg where one of the hooves struck you.  Jirn and Nal circle around the wagon, Jirn with Nal's knife and Nal bare-fisted.  You scrabble to your feet to find they've flanked you, the wagon to your front and the dark woods and hills to your back.

Once again, crap.

Welp. :I

Best thing to do now is get them out from flanking us. We can't climb over the wagon, but dashing into the woods might be a bet worth taking at this point.

Well, thats a bad situation to be in. At this rate we are going to need a reset or a Dues-ex-machinma or something. Anyway...

Rush Nal. Try to slip around/through him for better positioning at least. Take a swing or two at him with your knife as you do so.

I'm fairly sure we are cornered with each human no more than a few feet from us. Even if there was a tree right nearby, they would be able to easily stop us from climbing.

I think we failed to sufficiently motivate our mule.  Jump/scramble up atop its rump where its legs can't reach, entangle fingers of off hand in the hair of its tail (we're not looking for style points, just a secure grip), then stab it in the butt.

It's too bad we probably won't get a proper burial and headstone. "Made an ass of himself stabbing another ass in yet a third ass" would be an amusing epitaph.
