I'm pretty sure he thought doors wouldn't be counted because IIRC the room-selecting GUI thing never highlights the doors unless they're prebuilt or internal.
It does highlight the walls, though.

As far as I know (and as far as I've experienced) artefact things like doors, heatches and floodgates cannot be knocked down by building destroyers. Thieves should still be able to pick the lock, though.
Conventional doors can all be knocked down by level 2 building destroyers, and wooden ones by level 1 destroyers.

Hold it! Is there a possibility to link a door to a lever and still use it with the q menu?
That would mean that an artifact door with a lever linked to it, would be impregnable. Even if it would not be operational with the q menu, just with the lever, on the lucky case of a siege, you could pull the lever and protect yourself for however long you want.

Well thats alright, if it is the front door I just have to leave it open and close it only when my dwarves safely evacuated to the lower levels.

Until it's jammed open by cockroach remains, letting all the !!Fun!! in.  [facepalm]  Redundancy has its place, and doors are one of them, lol.

A system of multiple level lockdowns with bridges, doors, etc to lock down parts of the fortress can be a lifesaver sometimes.

If you look back in the thread, some people did try, and they got 8008135, which is significant only in that the digits resemble the letter in "BOOBIES".
