« on: November 14, 2012, 10:30:55 pm »

Well I have been in dwarf fortress for a while, and it seems the defaults have changed in time, It seems my dwarfs will clean rock surfaces? Not my indoor wood Floors? How can i change this so they will clean blood of any surface, or at leaste on indoors,I've checked preferences and there isn't one so i'm not sure.

They'll do it randomly, but it'd have to be underground. They don't clean anything aboveground. I belive DFHack have a utility to help cleaning things up if it's too much of a trouble for you :D

Or if it's just the floor, you can put things on it and pull it off to clean it.

Cleaning is done based off proximity. If an idle dwarf is hanging out around a dirty wall, he'll clean it. This means the best way to get any place cleaned is to designate it as a meeting hall, so idle dwarves will congregate there and think "You know, if we're going to meet here, maybe we should wipe up some of the bright cyan glowing troll blood spattered over the floor and flaming cat parts embedded in the walls."

When dwarves want to commit suicide, then by Armok, they _will_ commit suicide, even if they have to spend the rest of their lives working at it!
