Demons in a living world <spoilers>

After listening to Dwarf Talk 19, it seems like the most likely thing for demons to do after they destroy your fort is to slowly take over the surrounding area. It would become a civilization with a population that rises as more demons (and probably goblins and other things) come out of the pit. The civilization would slowly expand its borders and corrupt the landscape. The expansion should probably stop at some point, maybe half, unless Toady one wants to make it possible to lose.

This idea is based on how in most books and games demons are usually connected to corruption and rot. corruption is usually a slow spreading that is near impossible to stop, unless stopped at its source.

If you dislike this idea, post what you think they should do after taking over your fortress.

Planned. More or less.
Demons are eventually going to matter to the world. I suppose recycling current entity code would make sense.
