lol necroposting a tad? good to see theyre coming back on

While it is technically a necro, it _is_ a permitted one. I believe it is more preferrable to necro an old topic dealing with a matter than to create a new one, and the matter in this case is exactly the same thing both old and new.

If it were someone else who drew a cartoon, however, it wouldn't have been allowed, and valid to be reported.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a moderator here, I don't know specifics on what is/is not permitted wrt Ñ.

Really i never realized that this forum. Or any for that matter with the select exception of a handful of members actually cares about bring up old topics. Least of all this one which is constantly jammed with players bringing up old !!science!! threads.

Also wjen i pointed out the necropost i wasnt treating it as a bad thing. I was claiming it was nice to see that a person had come back to continue what they started.

And also. If someone posted their own comic. I still dont think anyone but the backseat moderators would have cared.

Typically, thread necro'ing is frowned upon, unless restarted by it's own maker with continuing content. It is more of a social obligation, than an actual forum rule. In this case, I think that it is good to see him making comics again and I support it. Now, let us stop arguing over it and return the thread to it's original purpose of showing comics.

You do not understand the ways of Toady One. He is not a business, he's just a guy trying to make a fun game. He's invited people to come along and experience the journey with him (and help him test it out as he goes along). At the end of the day, I don't think his main goal is to sell Dwarf Fortress, its just to create the best game possible.

Thanks for all the compliments... and for not chasing me off with the necro thread pitchfork.   ;D. ...and could someone let me know what the slang PTW means? I missed that one in my 1-1/2 year exile.

Thanks.

Ah yes; magma! The traditional Dwarven greeting, farewell, welcoming gift, trash disposal system, noble disposalappreciation system, and power source. Is there anything magma can't be used for?

It can't be used as a food source yet. But alas, we dwarves can never give up on the dream...

I'm pretty sure it can. At least, its full of minerals so it must be good for you.

If the agriculture system is updated it could fertilize soil.

Which is so disappointing, because if I recall correctly rocks that melt in magma are categorized as "glob" and go into food stockpiles.
