Flatlanders - Dwarf Themed Cartoon...
« on: November 13, 2012, 10:24:41 pm »

Hi all,

I will try to make this a regular strip. It is great practice and combines two of my favorite hobbies. Updates may be irregular from time to time as I have major time-sinks that eat up my time... but without further ado I give you... Flatlanders.

Glumprong:

Awesome. Took me two readings to understand what was happening, though.
Bookmarking for later. :D

Coincidentally, I've been going through several worldgens and embarks lately trying to find a (near) perfect embark. Its tedious to say the least.

But others might prefer to have the mess contained behind windows to avoid tracking blood all over the their nice, color coordinated floor patterns. Kind of the Ozzy Osborne vs. Martha Stewart debate.

Hey thanks. I tried to make two - three corrections to it earlier this morning but Windows 7 decided to update and ate the corrections. Maybe later.

That is exactly what inspired the comic. :D

Oh if you wondered the first strip is titled "Glumprong".

The Spire... an homage to a famous bug.

I enjoy these. PtW. Also has anyone other than the guy mentioned on the wiki ever encountered an adamantine spire?

Must the steps be done in that order?  :)

Who are we to question the blue screen? :)

Got the fixes in on the first strip. I'm about halfway done with the next strip ... gonna have to sleep on it.

You see, here's how I think this works:

Ground Balloon:

Is that balloon just a mass of brains?

Yeah  I keep wondering if I should have stuck some barrels and other assorted stuff poking out... The "ground balloon" isn't technically a real balloon it is just so chock full of stuff... it would look like one from a distance.

My typical embark is...
8 tetrahedrite boulders
6 cassiterite boulders
6 bauxite
5 bags of sand
a pick if I'm going to someplace evil...
a mass of animal brains individually packaged in their own barrels... it just makes me wonder how on earth 7 dwarves could pack that to an expedition site with two stock beasts.
oh... and the alcohol... lots of alcohol

Maybe it's just a quantum stockpile.
