I have done this more than I would like to admit, always by accident.  I once had a dwarf trapped under a retractable bridge.  I think he was dead a year before I realized what had happened.

It's even worse when you're attempting new airlock designs... I've killed a few children that way.

Dwarves, socks and subtlety. The latter is a rare thing when any one of former two are present.

It's even worse when you're attempting new airlock designs... I've killed a few children that way.

I hurt a cat pretty bad when I launched it off my airlock bridge while testing it.  He had a permanently wounded lower spine and walked really slowly.  But he was a noble bugger and survived at least 3 zombie sieges.  Until one time and he was just a little too far outside to make it back in before I had to seal the fort.  Had he not been wounded, he would have made it easily.  But alas, he died a hero's death and I erected a slab for him on the spot where he died.
