It-he anti-walkthroughs
« on: November 13, 2012, 07:01:10 pm »

Quite a while ago I stumbled across a site, possibly through a forum, maybe through a search engine, full of self-described 'anti-walkthroughs'. That is, a full run of the game, kind of like a walkthrough, kind of like a let's play, except with the express intent of breaking as many aspects of the game as possible along the way. It's found here: http://it-he.org/

Its been a few years now and I still remember it occasionally, but there's no discussions on them - there are no forums for it. So I decided to post here, share it with everyone, and make a place for discussions on it.

If you're wondering where to start, I'd recommend the Ultima 5: Lazarus section.

Quote from: Thief 2: Bamush!
Hunt down the guards. Pincusion them through the gates. Try and collect the stiffs and array them decoratively in the marketplace.
When the marketplace finally looks like the restaurant at the end of 'Kill Bill', it's time to leave.

I loved the crap out of Thief 2, and this guy had waaaaay more fun than I did.

Yeah, I'm going to be busy with this for a while.  I'm exercising all the willpower I have not to reinstall every one of these games.

I read through the first half of the Oblivion one. This is fantastic. I'll have to read more when I have time.

I giggled several times at the Deus Ex content on the site.  Storing the Boom in Paul's apartment sent me into a giggle fit.  The commentary is very amusing.

These are a lot of fun. Reading the Ultima 6 section, I remember figuring some of these out myself way back in the day. Killing Lord British and carrying him around Britannia in my backpack = One of my finest moments.

Not that. I already knew about that path thanks to uesp.net. Just the sheer power that those Khajiiti had made me miss my old saves with my Dunmeri enchanter, Amana. She was a different kind of gamebreaking by the time she got the Amulet of Shadows, the Robe of Drake's Pride, the Ring of Phynaster, the Curiass of Savior's Hide, and two daedric daggers called Blinkblade and Mendingblade. Blinkblade made her become invisible after she struck the enemy, while Mendingblade restored her health with each strike.

She was nigh unstoppable and managed to hit level 55 before I lost her saves. Don't ask how I lost them, though I think it may have had to do with some internal conflict. I'm going to work on making her as such again though, albeit doubly so.

That's easy, depending on the order of when you kill him. (Prior to finishing the last MQ arc.)

Now I must meditate on how many times I've killed Vivec.

Yeah, it's amazing how old this thing is, and it's still active oh my.

Here's to another anti-walkthrough before 2013. :D.

Ahaha, wonderful stuff...  What a brilliant concept, and so incredibly relevant to my interests!  Delightful reading.

EDIT:  Oh lord.  Ultima 7.  Gambling.  Literally game-breaking levels of money.  This is glorious.
