How Tough is your Toughest Dwarf?

To you he may be average, but he took this lot out in one burst!
Unfortunately he was killed by a second wave while resting in hospital.

Most recent (best) legendary (LoFR) from a 25ish year fort:

Now permanently numb from some syndromes. I'm pretty sure that makes him even stronger.

My record was a dwarf that had 500 kills in a very long running fort. Then a webber killed him after he rushed out of the cover of my marksdwarves. I only tend to let my dwarves actually fight in melee when they've become elites, so I suffer less casualties than most other players.

That seems to work!

Kogsak has an artifact blue axe and she knows how to use it.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At an apparent 136 years of age she still has a good number of years of enjoying slaughter ahead of her.

I've had a lot of markdwarves with pretty long kill tolls in any fortresses that I manages to get steel in. Doesn't have anything epic or memorable, just easily multi-hundred kills over a decade plus of heavy goblin sieges :D

It does takes a while to get dwarves up to snuff so they can be death-making machines, though, without abusing danger rooms.

How many dwarves do you send out to fight sieges? Just wondering if this is the result of killing everything that moves as part of a highly trained unit, or a single insane dwarf slaughtering everything that comes near.

Leading the highly trained three dwarf mop-up squad got her the most kills, there was also prisoner executions, drop-pit cripple killing, the usual.

Now as old age looms it's the insane thing.

Eh, elves versus a likely legendary+500 dwarf.

After you get past ratios of around 150:1, I find that dwarves will just plain collapse from exhaustion if the enemies manage to swarm them.

Wow, I could never get that many kills in dwarf fortress since my forts are slow due to fps lag long before then. Have gotten 3k memorable kills in adventure mode though, not vampire or necromancer even. Zooming across the land killing everything.

This is the list kill of my baddest soldier, the 167 years old commander of the fortress.

It should be noted that my whole military has of thirty hammerlords have a killing list ranging between 300-2000.

The fortress is surrounded by an army of three hundred zombies, and is almost imposible to get rid of them permanently.
When migrants or merchants come, i just send the superdwarfs outside to kill zombies as long as necesary. Of course,
they keep resurrecting, but it doen't matter much because the boys kill them faster.

In a hole in the ground there lived a dwarf. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a dwarf fortress, and that means magma.

Apply magma?

You might want to keep them around for training your hammerlords though. lol

That and xXcorpsesXx. So it's beneficial if you have magma proof Dwarves.
