Smile slightly.
"If we should face one stay close to me sister, no daemon will harm you while I live.
I am not insane, but being treated as an outcast for most of my life has made me somewhat unpleasant to be around. I shall endeavor to curtail my more unpleasant habits on the condition that I not be treated as a monster because of something I have no control over, is that acceptable? "

"Calm down, we're all here for you. Well, most of us that didn't decide to mistakenly invoke whatever else lies in the void. Excuse my understanding, I know little of psykers and their knowledge." Mira said to Roth.

Turning to Gabriel, she replied in turn.

"You could stay a certain distance in front of daemons instead of near any one of us when it comes to that situation."

"I have no intention of committing suicide for you, I'm immune to it's powers, it can still rip me to pieces or shoot me with a weapon, I will do what I can to shield the rest of you and if that costs me my life so be it, I accepted I was going to die long ago, but I will not intentionally kill myself."

"B-b-b-but...H-h-h-he's scary..."

"And if he hurts you he'll be dead."

"If I may correct you, assassin.

"If he hurts anyone."

"And I'm supposed to be nice and polite while people are threatening to kill me because of what I am?"

"Because of what you say, guardsman, not because of what you are. Due to your bad jokes about the Warp creatures, not the fact you are a blank. Please avoid showing a persecution complex."

Lemanov sighs and shoots Lyssian a look before continuing. "And you keep doing the same thing. Please, remain quiet until we get to the ground."

"There will be no killing unless you provoke it, rest assured."

"It's not a persecution complex if it's true, what do you think would happen if I announced in a populated area that I'm a blank? I would either be ripped to pieces or it would become a ghost town in a matter of seconds."

Lyssian shrugged and went on with her humming.

Part Two: Planet Fall

The cabin shakes as the lighter finally touches down. As the engines wind down the servitor's voice plays over the vox once again, "Welcome to: Port Suffering." The hatch-doors open and a wash of hot air and glaring light surges in, revealing the smoky landing field. Through the hatch, you see a scorched landing field, broken ground blackened by innumerable shuttle and lighter engines. Encircling the landing area is a high wire fence and looming above that, the brooding metal-clad walls of the settlement of Port Suffering.

The air smells foul, of chemicals, propellants and cleaning agents, but beneath the odours one would expect of such a place, there's a faint and sweet smell of iron.
