"Right." Doug turns to leave, but remembers something. "Rags, sorry for the mess in the OR. I accidentally pulled out something during a vivisection." And with that, he leaves.

Sami tapped the microphone a couple of tmes, to check if it was working before she spke into it. "Hey guys, I got a couple more plans I can build, and I can do this on short notice. Only thing is however is that this will be expensive, far more than what the robots have at this point. I'll be in the cafeteria if you want to discuss this. Operative Taiya out."

Sami got out the chair, and started to head to the cafeteria. Her mood has soured sharply after hearing the news about the attack, and all the potential trouble the results of such an event would bring. What Sami thought was that they needed to send a message to the KotS, not just to the lot that attacked the HQ, but in general. And this vehicle would be it...

Susan was somewhat stunned by Lucian's plans. He plans to... become a mutant? I knew he sympathized with them considerably more than I do, but this seems a little out there. And Carlos hates mutants, even though he himself is one. I don't know if he would go along with it. She put a hand to her mouth uncertainly and mulled it over while Douglas and Lucian talked. "It's all right, Douglas. I'll clean it up later. The first time I worked on a vivisection here I didn't do too well either," she said, letting him leave without incident.

Once she was sure he was out of earshot, she turned back to Lucian. "Lucian, I'm not sure even I could convince him to make someone a mutant. Even if it's by their own volition." She sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Let's... discuss some details first, at least. What kind of mutant are you even aiming to be?" she asked. "Because I imagine Carlos will need some pokemon or mutant DNA of that type to start with, assuming we can persuade him into going along with this."

"Heh," Lucian chuckles, "moment of insanity brought the idea on, usually I keep the ideas in my head and work them out before suggesting them," he replies with a tired sigh, "when I'm angry I don't think them through and just go with it, it's why I try to keep my head straight... and it's why I stick to my morals so strongly, it keeps me from doing something rash... like turning myself into a mutant to better protect the people I care about."

He shakes his head, "...I was thinking one of my own pokemon or another ghost we had in storage, gastly, most likely," Lucian says, "once they evolve to gengar they're fast and have a lot of power behind their more mystic moves, aligns well with my own talents... doubt i'd go through with it after thinking it through now... I'm sort of glad you came by to talk, if you didn't, I wouldn't have thought it through at all and gone to try and have it done... probably would have even offered him a chance to vivisect me to see the difference between born mutants and created mutants..." he has a look that says he knew he sounded stupid and that the idea was even stupider, "let's just forget I even mentioned it, it was a stupid idea to begin with," his fury had seemingly faded down to simple anger at this point, which he covered up much more easily than the fury from earlier, or he was just burying his anger even deeper than before, it was hard to tell at this point.

Rags scratched the back of her head with a nervous chuckle. "...To be perfectly honest, I'm rather curious as to if it could have worked. But it's for the best you don't lose your humanity over it, Lucian. There's few enough 'pure' humans left in the world these days..." And I'm... probably not going to be contributing to the number of them. She sighed and looked down with a shrug. "But it's not a stupid idea to want to be strong enough to protect people you care about. Becoming a mutant might be a little... drastic, but your intentions are good."

She put her hands on Lucian's upper arms. "I'm glad I stopped by myself. At times like these you could use a friend." She patted his shoulders and stepped back, figuring she could try to lighten his mood with a joke. "Mind you, if you did end up a Gengar mutant, I would have the decency to try using that scanner on you first before strapping you to the table," she said, smiling. Sami had shown her a little of how it worked, and while she didn't fully understand it, she felt she could operate it well enough to get by.

"We'll get her back. Trust me. But if we're going to do that we all need to keep our strength up. Eat the food and get a good night's rest, and in the morning Faust will give us the details we need to go rescue her. It's as simple as that." She nodded once, keeping her eyes on his to hopefully reinforce her confident statements.

(They aren't the ones who attacked, Tar. >.> Also preemptively voting for whatever the Rescue Lucy mission will be called. :P)

(They probably want it to make their own nobles or whatever more powerful by absorbing the essence of weaker mutants. At least, that was my theory. Also, it doesn't look like you can use Essence Extraction to become a mutant, judging from the entry for it on the first page.)

Stormy had remained in he room since the attack, painting furiously, her mouth fixed in a slight frown.

Broad, bloody red strokes-plumes of twisting demon smoke-shattered hulks of bone and metal. Her rage was deftly captured on canvas. Her emotions, like her element, could be unpredictable. Her father and mother had always said she was 'touched' by a great power, a small mention of some sort of deal made before she was born, the cost unmentioned-so therein she had inherited the power of the Sea, so too did her mind shift and weave like the currents, both cold and hot. Her calm was zen incarnate, her wrath terrible and beautiful to behold.

She was wrathful now. Not so much at the enemy, they could be expected to have done this in time. She was angry at herself for not anticipating their movements, not doing better, not being more prepared. Stormy had almost been treating this whole thing...like a vacation...and people were paying for that.

She had been relaxing at the beach while they stormed the base! Even though the counter attack she had rallied had been successful...the damage was done. If she had been there, she could have done something, anything...

Stormy couldn't help but blame herself...her mind thundered, waiting for release. Someone would pay.

She sighed.

"Je ne trouveront pas la paix dans cette longue et sombre nuit..." Stormy spoke in French aloud, to no-one and everyone.

((And yes, we'll all be rescuing Lucy I suppose :P ))

(Sweet. Thanks for saving me the effort of writing up three missions. I'll update the OP with the rest of the stuff from the forum turn soon.

Edro, if you don't mind a little story and gameplay segregation, we can flavor the roll that you barely passed and I missed as an extra large breakthrough next time somebody works towards that Tech.)

Faust sits in the messed up offices, contemplating many thing over a cigar. He had been in the game long enough and and seen enough so that the death of a Pokemon didn't cut quite so deep, but the circumstances of the death could have easily been avoided. He should have really just thrown up his hands when the attackers came. "Dumb, dumb, stupid Heinrich. Why the hell did I draw a Pokemon? There was no possible outcome other than her death while outnumbered that sorely. I've been off the field of battle for too long. I'm growing soft..."

He takes another puff and shakes his head. Burial arrangement for Magmar would be a pain in the ass. Unlike some of his Pokemon, it wasn't decorated enough to qualify for a spot in the WPSF International Cemetery. "Pity Carlos sealed off and converted the catacombs here, that would have made your burial easy old girl." He mutters glancing at the Timer Ball containing the corpse.

As unkosher as it would be to bury a fire type at sea, Faust quickly decides that the only moderately respectful option would be to ask the Smith Sisters to go out on the Yatch and take care of it. His moping is interrupted by a text message from WPSF Internal Affairs, claiming good news. Faust reads it and shrugs, unsure if it is good or not. With a sigh he reaches for the intercom microphone. His voice rings out with only the slightest hint of sorrow audible under his thick accent.

"Attention Agents. Just a quick WPSF News Update. We were not the only branch attacked today. Mutant Rebels in Capetown South Africa torched some of our buildings there, including the evidence storage warehouse. Internal Affairs can no longer pursue it's case against Agent Wert, so the hold on his mission license will be released shortly. I have a metric tone of paperwork regarding what happened here today, so it remains to be seen if I can cut through the red tape and get him reinstated before the rescue mission, but it should happen sooner or later."

Mission Complete!

You earn your standard 2000py Operation Fee!

OP Has been updated with new prisoners and artificing options!

Warning, Prisoner capacity is overloaded! We have 12 inmates and 10 cells! Even if you intend to deal with the issue next turn, you still have to deal with overcrowding penalty rolls, so decide who gets who as a cell mate. If no majority agreement is reached by the time the turn is locked and rolled, decision will fall to Doug for IC reasons.

Get actions posted quick. If we are locked and rolled by tomorrow night I can do the turn Wed and aim to play Friday or Sunday. (Or Saturday, but most of you seem to have issues with that day.)

Stormy was still a bit miffed about the last mission, but there were always things to do, no?

1. Study the abstract art painting (Intuition Mod +4)
2. Exploring the Water Dungeon while it's still open, maybe talking to the Water Elemental Guy again? (Intuition Mod +4)
3. Translate ancient Scrap of Text in Sanskrit (Focus Mod +8)
