Voting for Take It Back myself.

Today was an off day. Even Doug was a bit surprised. But no matter, today was just as bad of a day as any other mission day. After all, he planned on going for the rep, Maynard Helm himself. 1. Capture Maynard Helm, Intimidate +9) When interrogating him, though, he'd not ask where Virgil was, but instead where Lucy was. (2a. Interrogating Helm about Lucy's location, Intimidate +9) While he knew he would definitely not fit in with the invading mutants, he could at least fake his way out of the upcoming trouble he'd be in. That is, of course, IF he knew where Lucy was. He'd better. In case he failed in capturing Helm, though. he'd go explore the Tropical Sands, looking for land next to the base available to purchase or exchange for favors (2b. Explore Tropical Sands, finding land next to or close to base available for purchase, with money or other means. Perception +2) Either way, afterwards he heads for the Seawind Estates, looking for a way to contact Mr. Chekhov himself, as Paul seems uncooperative. (3. Explore Seawind Estates to find a way to contact Chekhov. Athletics +4)

1. Capture Maynard Helm. Mod is Power 4 + Intimidate 3 = 7 / 2 = 3.5.
2. Explore the Barren Peninsula in Search of Everstones. Mod is Spirit 7 + Intuition 5 = 12 / 2 = 6.
3. Train Notes, Dune, and Curran. Add Rosethorn, White, and Cadence if someone else Trains. All take Two Injuries.

4. Not really a forum turn, but; Talk to Rags about getting some of the Death Water for his Sword Commission.

(I could change my third action, but I dunno what to. :P Also, any time you want to Edro, you can just knock on Sue's door and we can RP it out.)

(Apparently my subscription didn't update to your post SerCon, starting RP now)

Lucian looked over the requirements necessary for the commissioned sword, he needed to get one of the pokemon in storage as well as the death water they have. He'd need to talk to Rags about that last one since they were still researching it, unless they went back into the dungeon and grabbed more. He shakes his head and heads to the storage facility to pick up a cubone, ghastly, and unown, all of which he'd bring with him to see what effects they'd have on the weapon itself then heads to Rags' room and knocks.

(No worries, we have plenty of time until the next turn/session.)

Susan was currently listening to the radio as she went about her usual exercises - currently she was doing yoga. Luckily for Lucian, she preferred to do them in her own room as opposed to Carlos's apartment, since the elder scientist didn't have as much clear floor space as she did. When she heard the knock, she let go of her ankles, straightened up, and turned off the radio. "Just a moment," she said as she got her towel from her table. She wiped her brow off and put it around her neck as she opened the door.

"Good day, Lucian. Do you want to come in?" she asked, opening the door a little wider and stepping to the side.

"Yes, thank you," Lucian replies with a small smile, "sorry to come by unannounced but I actually need some help with something," he says, rubbing the back of his head slightly, "You probably heard that I went with Rik to meet up with his father and commission a sword. He gave me a list of required materials," he pulls out a piece of paper with the list on it:

  • 3 Everstones
  • 1 Evolution Stone
  • 1 Pokemon
  • A substance that induces a Death-like State

"It's the last one I need help with, I know we still have some of that water from the poison dungeon, but we're still studying it, so I didn't want to just take it and have it be important later."

Sue read the list. "It seems a bit... random." She scratched the back of her head. "In any case, you're asking for a sample of the death water? Go ahead and take some of it. The Poison dungeon should remain open if we need any more, but I don't think we will." Rags looked a little embarrassed for a moment. "...To be perfectly honest, Carlos had asked me to get samples of liquids from other dungeons and I completely forgot when we were in the Water dungeon... I suppose I'll have to make time the next time it's open to get it."

She handed the list back. "I take it this sword is going to have a special effect of some sort?"

"I intend it to, with the design I have and the input from Toe, Rik's father, this will be a great weapon," he pauses, "Actually, I don't believe I ever showed anyone else the design... would you like to take a look at the full design I came up with? It's based on what I know of auras so and how different things affect them, so it might be of interest."

Stormy decided some in depth (hah, pun) investigation was needed on the Kyogre idol...and of course, the final bit of text needed to be translated. then she had so convince someone to actually study them, since she was bullocks at that...

1. Investigate the Kyogre Idol using charm (Charm Mod +5)
2. Investigate the Kyogre Idol using focus (Focus Mod +8)
3. Translate ancient Scrap of Text in Lunar Hieroglyps (Focus Mod +8)

(Sorry Edro, I accidentally closed the tab earlier thinking I had responded and didn't realize I hadn't. >.<)

"Certainly. Here, have a seat," Rags said, pulling out the chair of the small desk she normally used for taxidermy and setting it so it faced the bed. She took a seat at the edge of the mattress and wiped her face with her towel again while waiting for Lucian to get settled and show off his plans.

(Warning, wall of text :P)

Lucian pulls the plans from his pocket, or rather, a notebook that looked worn, and opened it to a point several pages in, the other pages with scratched out notes and designs before laying down the notebook, showing a cleaver-like curved blade with a bone handle and an obviously lethal edge, notes on each of the different parts are linked with haphazard arrows and lines. It looked more like the work of a scientist than a soldier or artificer if not for the references to auras, "the design I have is actually fairly simple, a bone from a cubone, likely easy to come by in the Cloyster Community, acts as the handle and stabalizes the wielders aura into a hardened state, steel harvested from an aron, preferably fed various metals to create a proper alloy, would then act as a conduit for the hardened aura and reinforce the blade," he points to the two in turn before going to a flame marked 'spiritfire' "a flame from a pokemon like litwick or ninetales would act as a spiritual catalyst to enforce the steel and make it easier to integrate the aura into it, as well as tempering the metal itself," he then turns to the next page which has a diagram of a dawn stone, a leaf stone, and a cluster of three everstones, "Toe wanted me to bring him an evolution stone to power the sword's enchantment and the everstones to stabilize the energy in it as well as the aura that would be put through it, I'm trying to decide between the Dawn Stone and Leaf Stone at this times, though I'm leaning towards obtaining a dusk stone for it instead," he then points to a small caption about the death water, "the death water would obviously enhance the lethality of the blade in question, I imagine it'd be folded into the steel or used to quench it to enhance the cutting power of the edge but Toe never explained what specifically it would do," he sighs and flips the page again that has labeled several pokemon that were in storage, most crossed out, but three underlined and having a section towards the bottom to give the pros and cons of their essence incorporated into the blade, specifically a cubone, a gastly, and an unown. The cubone is obvious, as is the gastly with its connection to death and decay, but the unown only has one phrase written in each section, under pros it says "increased power" while under cons it says "unknown capabilities"

"I don't really like thinking about this requirement, but a pokemon is needed to reinforce the power of the blade, the three candidates are for a cubone, a gastly, and an unown at the moment," he points to the cubone section, "the cubone would reinforce the hardening effect and provide a stable defense, it'd also possibly let the blade absorb electricity to augment the edge like an actual cubone can," he points to the gastly, "gastly is a spiritual entity and the smog from it would reinforce the spiritual fire, but switch it from pure spirit to spirit and decay which would likely manifest as a poisonous blade or as a weakening effect," he then points to the unown, "this is the wild card, unown are known specifically for having mysterious cababilities and a lot of power behind them when gathered together, but I wouldn't know what it'd confer to the blade until the process was finished," He looks up at that point, "I was planning on something like this long before I was even assigned here, but I was taking my time before... you know what I mean," he falters briefly, but hides it well enough, he had enough control over himself not to show that bringing it up truly angered him, "what do you think?" he asks, he had spent quite some time analyzing the possible contributions of the items he had to obtain for the sword so he could have an idea of what its full capabilities would be when he got it.

Susan took the notebook and smoothed the page with the palm of her hand before examining it. "Well, let's start from the top. I assume you're going to ask Sami if you can borrow Vanadia for the Aron metal. Would you like to borrow Wilt for the flame part? I'm not sure if his fire qualifies as 'spiritual' but he can certainly generate a lot of heat." She scanned down the page until she got to the stones. "Hmm. Do you know what effect the evolutionary stone would have on the blade? For example, would the leaf stone give it Grass properties?" They had already covered the death water, so she skipped over it and went to the pokemon.

"If the Cubone essence were to allow the blade to harmlessly divert electricity from you, that could be fairly useful. The Gastly is a bit of a toss-up. On the one hand, it has been thoroughly researched and we can do nothing more with it, so it's perfect for this. On the other hand, I'm not sure if it's worth tainting the blade. It's possible the theoretical weakening effect could affect the sword and not something struck by it. As for the Unown..." Susan rubbed her forehead. "It's a tough decision and hinges on what it could bring to the table. It could be just about anything. If it were me, I would choose to play it safe and choose the Cubone, but... well, little risk may mean little reward."

She handed the notebook back to Lucian and took his hand between hers for the moment. "I know Lucy means the world to you, Lucian. We'll get her back safely and as soon as possible."

"Toe has a ninetales to cover the fire and I'm sure they have a few aron there otherwise he would have asked me to get the material as well," Lucian replies, "I can only guess on the evolution stones, but I'm under the assumption that it provides certain traits of the common type that's affected by the stones, fighting and psychic for dawn, ghost and dark for dusk, grass for leaf... A type carrying over is the most likely scenario, however, grass types also display healing properties, such as leech seed, absorb, mega drain and the like, psychic would possibly make the sword into as focus as well, augmenting my aura manipulation, that's the one I'd be most interested in to be honest, fighting would increase the actual power of the blade. Ghost or dark... I imagine they'd bypass common defenses, but that's only a guess since I haven't been able to see the effects the stone has on my own aura, which is what I'm basing this design off of. And I took the possible weakening of the weapon into consideration when suggesting the metal in question, aron are particularly resistant creatures, immune to poison and possessing a high degree of defense, plus the way the metal forms it is refined and made dense by the pokemon incorporating it into its shell. Additionally, having the bone from a cubone or marowak incorporated into the blade already might make an actual cubone redundant, which is why the gastly and unown are present on the list."

He sighs when Rags' brings up Lucy, "he's trying to turn Lucy against us, make her think we sold her out, make her think I betrayed her..." he shakes his head, "that's the part that pisses me off most, and the part that has me worried most, if he actually turns her against us, even if we show up to save her, would she believe us? Would she think we're going for another reason? It's why I try not to think about it if I can, it stresses me out and makes it hard to concentrate, I know we'll get her back, that's why I can push it aside when I need to, but thinking about it just hinders our chances, and hers. Honestly, the worst thing that could happen is he makes her honestly believe we betrayed her... that's my reason for wanting to get her back as quickly as possible. So that the scenario doesn't come to pass."
