Susan:

Training your Pokemon is always a pain in the ass, as they can never fight as equals due to their elemental types. In the end you just have the pair of them exchange tackles for several hours, plopping them in the healing machine when they get hurt. You are sure there are better ways to train... (+4 Levels to distribute to your Pokemon as you see fit)

Eventually you grow bored of watching your Pokemon ram into each other repeatedly, and decide to explore the island a bit. You stick to the safe neighborhood of Tropical Sands for now. It is warm and humid here, as you hear it always is on Port Cane. The waves wash the beaches and a refreshing breeze comes off the ocean. It is only the paranoid looks on the faces of the civilians and heavy military presence that reminds you that you are not in fact on vacation.

Soon enough however you move inland and see the trouble for what it is. Bulldozers wreck houses and construction crews rapidly try to assemble industrial buildings. The newly homeless camp out in the streets, and you can tell most of them lack basics essentials such as a regular food source and plumbing.

Before long you overhear two ner-do-wells complaining about the need for somebody respectable looking for their scheme. You approach and ask about the situation, and they quickly spill. The pair have just raided the President General's private trophy garden and captured 6 Cubchoo. They intend to sell the Pokemon for a tidy profit as ice types are rare on tropical Port Cane. If you would be willing to go door to door selling the things you would be given a fair cut of the profits.

You promise to consider their offer, get their numbers, and after a bit more exploration return to HQ. Roll After Mod = 18 Cubchoo Sale has been added to the list of available actions!

Niko:

You leave your Pokemon alone in the bell-tower of the cathedral before heading downstairs to talk to Faust about the missions. You find the agent dealing blackjack for his loudred and machop in his office. He is able to share a bit of his insight and opinion, but dosn't know much more than you do. Roll After Mod = 11

"I read in the paper a few days back that the mutants were Grimer and Gulpin based. They train all sorts of poison Pokemon from what I hear. To get to them you will have to either sneak, bribe, or fight your way through the guarded NPO border, or traverse the swamps full of nasty wilds."

Faust groans as deals his Loudred a Jack and an Ace. "I've fought the United Counties back in Europe before. Unless this local chapter use radically new tactics, expect them to focus on healing and mobility while disrupting your ability to do the same. Prepare for health draining moves and hindering status effects. Sadly the PCNA is having issues with their spy satellite at the moment, so they can't get us Ariel Pictures of their troop movement and camp layout. You should listen carefully on the day of the briefing."

Your superior apologizes for not being able to tell you more, and bids you good day.

...

After the dissection and a late lunch you return to check on the Eevee and find an egg! Roll after mod = 21. The egg will be ready to hatch after 3 forum turns and/or missions.

Sami:

You head outside to train your Pokemon. Vanadia is set up with a large palm tree to pratice it's tackle on, while you drill Seivette's telekinetic powers and reaction time by throwing rocks at it. After about 30 minutes of drilling a crowd of local children gather around. One works up the courage to challenge you to a battle.

The boy uses Treeko and Wingull, but you quickly learn that his Pokemon are hatchlings, and you win the battle without either of your Pokemon taking significant damage.

After defeating the child you return to your drills for another hour or so before deciding to give your Pokemon a rest. You heal them up and then head to the cell block for a conversation with Lucy. +4 Levels to distribute to your Pokemon as you Please!

Lucy is willing to talk, and insists that the only reason that she was captured is because she is a mutant. She claims that her boss didn't know what she was, but the PCNA seized his florist shop and berry market for the crime of employing a mutant. From what she understands the buildings were demolished to make way for a factory. Since you intend to look for a source of berries you ask her how to get in touch with her boss, and Lucy gives you an address. Satisfied with her cooperation you leave the cell block and hit the town. Roll After Mod = 16. The information you got turns your next action into an automatic success!

Lucy's boss lives right on the edge of the construction zone. When you knock on the door you have to swear that you are not a PCNA goon before he lets you in. Once inside you meet the most unlikely florist shop owner you have ever laid eyes on. He wears a biker's jacket and spikes his hair.

When you bring up his business he goes into a rant. He was just trying to turn his life around, and government shut him down just because he made the mistake of hiring a mutant.

"Well fuck them!" he declares with a wicked grin. "If they don't want me to go straight, I ain't gonna. I just got invited to join the Kings of the Street, and I fully intend to accept! I'll show them for closing me shop up!"

You quickly change the topic and ask if he has any berries left. He responds to the affirmative. You ask then ask if he would be willing to sell.

"Sell. Nah. I don't need to sell..." the man smiles. "The gubmint will seize my house any day to make room for some sort of factory or plant. When that happens I intend to move to KotS territory and start from scratch. I don't need no money. I'll tell you what though, if you help me out with a little job on behalf of the Kings, I'll GIVE you all that is left of my business. Thats a' least 100 berries and a good few baby grass Pokemon. What do ya say?" AUTO PASS! NEW MISSION HAS BEEN ADDED!

He then details his plan for a daring raid deep into the heart of Județul Sugar turf...

Susan + Niko

The pair of you put on gloves and lay the dead mutant on a surgery table.

With the efficiency and knowledge of two trained WPSF agents you quickly set to work. The mutant is cut open, and any organ or feature not present in a human body is examined, measured, and photographed. Dr. Gonzalez recommends that you measure the wings so you do so.

After a few messy hours you sew the corpse back up and put it back in the freezer, before handing your charts and photographs over to Dr. Gonzalez for investigation.

"Muy bueno! I should be able to get us closer to a basic understanding of those filthy mutants with this data! Also... look at the wings on that sucker. If I can apply that data correctly we should be able to get more out of our flying type pokemon and moves! Más aves! More Birds! We need to cut open more flying types!"

Susan's Roll after mods: 16
Niko's Roll after mods: 11
11/4 = 2
16 + 2 = 18

Progress made towards basic mutation theory! Pokemon Aerodynamics has been made available for research!

"An Aron and an Abra respectively. Had them both for a while now. Seivette was especially effective when I was at my last job, considering the boss tried using telepathy, without actually having it.

Niko ducks as Alan starts to hover around him, trying to keep a bit of a distance to fully grasp the ins and outs he is able to notice.  Meanwhile, Haline and Milli rub up against Susan and Sami, getting as much attention as they can.  They bat their paws at the other whenever close enough to do so, but focus more on their cat-like attention whoring.

"An Aron and an Abra, you say?  That could definitely influence our decisions for the available missions.  I don't have a lot of experience with the two, but from what I understand they could be a serious tool against the nearby gangs.  That may also make us a target, though, should they decidee we are becoming a threat."

(No problem, Tar. ^^^)

"Could your Abra use her telepathy to influence people, giving us a chance to infiltrate without detection?" Susan asked, still scratching the pair of Eevee(s? I dunno the plural >.>) behind the ears and under the chin and basically enabling their attention-whoring.

1. Train pokemon
2. find clues on evolution stone dealers (Perception mod 3.5 ((Are we rounding up or down for these?)))
3. Take pistol from armory and explore swamps. (Perception mod 3.5)

((These actions are set to take place when convenient during the RP story line.  The reactions to the previous actions will have taken place before the current conversation, while the new actions will take place after))

Niko jotted down the notes he needed during the intel brief for the missions.  He knew that it would come in handy later, so he did not want to forget any of the important parts.  Upon returning to the bell tower, Milli was off in a corner, wrapping herself around what appeared to be an egg.  Niko was ecstatic, and returned his duo to their pokeballs and draped his wind breaker over the egg to help keep it warm.  He then ran to his room carrying the egg in his arms (carefully).  (I guess I would have the egg in my arms for the second conversation with Sami and Susan).  After speaking with his co-workers, he returned to his room and set up a nest for the newly laid egg.  (Probably utilizing the heater to keep it at a nice warm temperature and wrapping it in blankets).

After taking care of the egg, Niko decided that he was ready to continue the training of his pokemon, so he found a nice area to do so, utilizing any brush in the area to set up an obstacle course.  After a rigorous workout with them, he knew he would need to prepare for the future, so he headed to the armory to check out a pistol and 50 rounds of ammunition and asked directions to the Swamps for a little exploration (trying not to get very far in).  On his way there, he decided to look around for any dealers in evolutionary stones.

(Can we take another three actions? If so...

1. Sell Cubchoos! Mod is Spirit 4 + Charm 0 = 2 / 2 = 2 - 2 = 0.
2. Vivisect the Joltik. Mod is Int 5 + Per 1 = 6 / 2 = 3.
3. Dissect the Weezing. Mod is Int 5 + Edu 2 / 2 = 3.5.

For skills of zero, the -2 is applied AFTER the average. So, (4+0)/2-2, which is a mod of zero.

Also, it's mission time! So if you haven't voted in the other thread, do so now!

Susan:

You wake up early, dress sharp, and hit the streets with your new contacts. They slip you through a hidden tunnel under the border and into a wealthy neighborhood in NPO territory.

The entirety of the morning is spent going door to door, peddling Cubchoo, but Alas you are able to find no buyers. Your contacts tell you its no big deal and invite you to try again whenever. Roll After Mods = 6

Returning to HQ you track down El Caimán, and request to do some science. With a smirk he gets on the intercom and several minutes later Gerald is dragged into the lab, strapped to a table and heavily sedated.

First you take some simple tissue samples to help Dr. Gonzalez re-create his basic theory on mutation. The researcher then encourges you to cut out the mutant's voice box as Gerald is able to use the move screech, and that might be useful to help set up a basic sonic scanning system.

You follow directions and cut the voicebox out carefully, before spending 30 minutes prodding it with various devices as Dr. Gonzalez furiously enters your data into the computer.

After sewing the voicebox back in properly you then repeat the process with the rest of Gerald's non-vital organs, just to be thorough. As he works to input your data Dr. Gonzalez notes that he is starting understand the benifits of Joltik's small size, and might be able to apply said data to other featherweight pokemon with enough research.

Sadly Gerald doesn't wake up when the sedative wears off. Dr. Gonzalez takes a good long look at him before speaking. "la pérdida de sangre! The fucking mutant died of blood loss! You must have forgotten to restrict an artery or failed to make a clean cut somewhere. Ah well. No big loss. I'll throw him in the freezer with the rest of the stiffs, and bring one out for you to work with."

Roll After Mod = 19
Prime Number: Subject Dies
Progress toward Basic Mutation Theory made!
Progress toward Modern Scanners made!
Progress toward Non-Lethal Weapons made!
Underdog Theory made available for research!

The recently deceased is brought to the freezer, and the weezing corpse is dragged out for you to work with. You place the new corpse on the table and get to work. You carefully remove, pick apart, and catolouge each organ, but find nothing inspiration worthy about the corpse. Furthermore you do too much damage to the poison pokemon for it to be of use for future disections!
Roll After Mod = 13
Prime Number: Subject Destroyed

Niko:

Hitting the city in search of evolution stones, you wisely think to ask a patrolling PCNA soldier for advice.

"Some of the factories that are being built in Tropical Sands give away valuable minerals such as Nuggets or Type Gems as payment. The local currency is inflated, and a good portion of the local population don't trust the international Pokeyen as currency.

I know of one company, Life-Snuffer, that pays in Fire Stones. They make pesticides, so hold your breath when you visit. Here, lemee give you the address."

The Life-Snuffer factory is a good 45 minute walk from headquarters. You arrive and catch some workers taking a smoke break up front. Chatting them up you meet a few workers who are willing to trade in their paystones for cash or other considerations. You note the average going price and return to HQ. Roll After Mod = 17. See 'Assets' Post on the first page (once updated) for details.

Your return trip to headquarters is a brief one: You grab lunch and a pistol before heading back out to explore the swamps.

The swamps are quiet today. You eventually spot a few Croagunk, but they keep their distance and flee when you attempt to aproach them. You wander for a few hours before returning with nothing more than a fresh layer of mud on your boots. Roll After Mod = 11

Sami:

You order Tiny dragged to an interrogation room. After a few initial issues establishing eye contact (solved by stacking some books on Gerald's chair so the tiny man can see over the table) the interrogation in earnest.

The mutant denies any connection with the Kings, but he has a rather bad habit of referring to the group as 'we' or 'us'. He is very evasive when it comes to sharing useful information, but you do overhear him mutter something along the lines of '...That spy Chekhov' under his breath when the topic turns to how the PCNA was able to bring him in.

By the end of the session you have yet to get anything valuable from him, but are left with the conclusion that Tiny will not be a tough nut to crack in the long run. Any hopes of future interrogation however are dashed when you learn latter that Tiny was killed in a lab accident. Roll After Mod = 11

You have a discussion with Faust over lunch about obtaining PCNA uniforms for use on missions.

"I think you look fine in WPSF Blue! I'm pretty sure its also a war crime to misrepresent your faction... but then again its not like there is any court left that would prosecute such things. I'm sure if you are able to complete a mission on the behalf of the PCNA I would have no problem talking them into letting you wear their uniforms."

Faust offer a slight smile. "Of course with that lead you got us the other day, I could see you all in KotS colors as well. I'm not saying it would be easy, or even the best idea, but they are such a headless organization. It *might* be possible to use them for our own purposes."

You spend the rest of the lunch break talking about procedural stuff and trying not to look too deeply into Faust's interest in what you wear.

Sami + Niko

The pair of meet up after dinner and decide to partake in a quick training battle, which takes place out on the docks just outside of HQ.

The match starts off with Vanadia facing off against Milli, and it quickly becomes apparent that the Eevee has little chance of hurting it's steel type foe. Vanadia absorbs a tackle with minimum damage before returning fire with a mud slap attack. The Eevee, blinded by the mud in it's eye, misses the followup attack and is swiftly finished off with a headbutt from the Aaron.

Round two features Haline and Seivette. Seivette attempts to start off strong with a hidden power, but the male Eevee is able to leap over the pulse of energy to avoid it. Haline lands perfectly and charges in to perform a tackle attack, but the Abra uses protect to block. Undeterred Haline follows up with a sand attack, which Seivette avoids by using teleport... right off the pier and into the water with a splash.

The Abra is rescued from her impromptu swimming lesson by it's Pokeball, and both trainers return to HQ, content with the efforts of their Pokemon. +4 Levels to distribute as each of you see fit!
