Niko:

You spend more time with Shadow. To do so you decide to raid the cafeteria kitchen and share some cold cuts with the Umbreon. It eats happily, and allows you to pet it abit. On your way back to your room however it catches the scent of it's old trainer and bolts for the cell block. You are luckily able to recall it before it can discover that you are keeping it's friend behind bars. You believe that you made progress today, but are not sure if using the dark type in battle quite yet would be wise...

You ask Rik about the possibility of buying evolution stones from the cloister community, and the mutant considers your request. "Try my Father-in-Law Jude. He is responsible for training Pokemon to cover the weaknesses of ground types. He was raising some Weepingbell last year to battle off water types. He evolved alot of them. He might have Leaf Stones left. Do send regards to my wife Juda, she is living with her father while I'm with you."

Taking the long walk to the Barren Peninsula you are allowed into the settlement and eventually track down Jude's place of business. A young female Mudkip mutant introduces herself as Juda and you exchange pleasantries for a bit before getting down to business. You learn that Rik and Juda have adopted a mutant child snatched from human parents, in hope that the experience will prepare them for children of their own.

You find the fact that the children of the tribe are married so young to be at least a bit disturbing, however you are disturbed even more when you inquire about the leaf stones. Juda pulls one out and begins to tell you her story. Her father, several years ago, had gotten on the bad side of the settlement's leader Maximilian over a friendly Pokemon battle gone wrong. Maximilian, unwilling to kill or imprison one of his valuable trainers instead chose to use his power to make Jude's life a living hell. His current method of harassing Jude is the appointment of Rik as ambassador, which you learn is an unpaid position.

With Rik living away from home, and unable to send any money back, Jude and Juda have been struggling to provide for the adopted child. Her story told, she offers you the leaf stone and invites you to pay what you think is fair.

Sami:

You do not know enough about the island to know which type of Pokemon live where, but you suspect that you may find electric type Stunfisk and fighting type croagunk in the swamps, so that is where you head.

It is hot today, and the swamps are stinky and humid to boot. To make matters worse you forgot to pack suficiant water for your hike, so after a few hours of fruitless search, you decide to head on back to base.

Roll After Mods = 11

Back in your room you upgrade Alan while some of your Pokemon munch on poffins. Alan gets some high powered weaponry, new stealth systems, and improved mobility. The supplies for such endeavors are pricey and often inferior on Port Cane, but you supplement what you can buy by salvaging parts from the abandoned tractor out in front of the base that some of your teammates have used for training recently.

Lucian:

You head to Clair's house and find the Panpour mutant outside working on her surfboard. You flash your badge and ask her to come with you for some questioning. She doesn't resist, and only asks for a few moments to put her board back in the house which you allow.

Back at base, Clair identifies Mark from behind a two way mirror, claiming that he is a recent ex. When pressed, she gives a little background information that you didn't get from Mark.

"About two months ago we were approached by Waymor McCain, an infamous manager with ties to the NPO who recruited talented mutant athletes. I don't like the NPO. They killed a few friends of mine. I tried to talk Mark out of dealing with McCain, but couldn't reach him. Mark thought he could use McCain to improve his fame without having to sell out to the NPO."

She sobs and continues. "When Waymor found out about my objections to him, he deployed other women to tempt Mark. I have no hard proof he cheated, but I know he must have. They were all beautiful girls, mostly models and adult actors, and Mark began to call on me less and less. I knew we were finished as a couple for some time, but couldn't find the courage to dump him before he vanished."

You nod and transfer Clair to a secure yet comfortable holding room. You are not sure if you should take her into custody, try to reunite her with Mark, or turn her loose at this point.

Note from the mechanics department: Guile is a INT skill, not a SPR skill

Down at Rik's new workshop you are given a pair of goggles and told to put them on.

"Alright. There are clearly some mystical elements on the gems studding this Pokeball. These goggles allow you to see mineral energy in metals and gems. I'm going to run the Pokeball through a battery of tests. Your job is to inform me of any change in the color or intensity of the energy. Understood?"

You answer to the affirmative and get to work. Drawing upon your experience in reading auras, you find the task to be simple. You maintain your focus and promptly inform Rik of any and all changes in the subject.

After several tedious hours of teamwork Rik stops the testing. "Very good. I should be able to apply what I have learned of the gems to a new weapon. It should aid in Pokemon Capture. I will see them crafted and added to your armory."

Rod of Binding Crystal now available in the armory!

Note, I used your perception, as Intuition was not a valid roll for examining the Pokeball.

Susan:

Rik's workstation exists at the moment in a small corner of the OR. Carlos boots up his computer from across the room, and although he spares you a few glances and smiles as you work you get the feeling that he is too busy with paperwork or whatnot to pay too much attention to what you and the Artificer are doing.

Today Rik intends to test the effects of the Death Water, with you as the test subject. "I've isolated some of the key components in the Death Water and have prepared small samples of each. I will test you with some flashcards to establish a baseline, then you will consume a sample and retake the test. After each retake you will consume an antidote to flush your system of the previous toxin. I am trained in basic first aid and have a few Hyper Potions standing by in case things go wrong."

The flash cards are simple pattern recognition and math problems. You have no trouble with them, and none of the chemicals are capable of changing this, although some of them make you feel quite weird. Eventually you conclude and Rik sighs.

"I got nothing. Nothing changes the results in any significant way. I think the problem might be my flashcards are too easy for you. You score very high. Your ability to solve them could be so great that it completely mitigates the chemicals at this level of difficulty. If you want to try again sometime I make some tougher flash cards for you..."

Roll After Mods = 15 (Ouch, one off!)

The attempt to lure Carlos outside fails utterly. "No thanks, my cute little cadaver. Those fuckers out there would lynch me. How about an evening in?"

Carlos takes you to his Suite, which is more of a huge loft with a bathroom. Still he has done wonders with the place, installing a kitchen, office space, the fence on which he sleeps, and of course even more research equipment.

The long night has more than it's fair share of romantic moments, but most of it is spent on work. Dr. Gonzalez produces two pieces of written work for you to look over and critique; the first is a fascinating case study on the nursing habits of several female mutants connected to non-mammalian pokemon species, and the second is his latest entree for the weekly column he writes for a British tabloid. The column covers a conversation that he had with an 'unnamed female mutant aligned with the United Counties in prison block of the base in which I am stationed...'. Carlos paints whom you suppose to be Afina in a negative light, portraying her as an un-remorseful complete monster who wants nothing more than to eat humans and establish mutant supremacy.

While working in Carlos' suite you notice a machine with the size and dimensions of an old time phone booth. When you inquire about it Carlos explains it is his wind and pressure chamber that he uses for scientific and pokemon trainer purposes. You ask to borrow it tomorrow for training, and Carlos agrees.

Doug:

You wake up very early and check out the bars open late and several afterparties in hopes of finding Scarface to start your day. You spot somebody who matches his description in a rundown dive. Aproaching him, you demand the intelegence before shoving him to the ground and making several intimidating and suggestive gestures.

Scarface smirks, rises to his feet, and produces a grease stained folder from his jacket, which he gives to you before leaving the bar.

You take a quick look at the file as you walk it over to the Fangs for delivery. Most of it is either boring or encoded, but eventually you spot a short note that catches your eye!

"According to my sources, D. Kull has not been captured by the PCNA. I think the fucker (and the sweet prototype) must have split and defected to those NPO wusses. I WILL FIND AND SKIN THAT BASTARD ALIVE FOR HANDING OVER THE PROTOTYPE!!!
-Scarface"

+1500 py!
Roll After Mods = 17

Deciding to take advantage of the anarchy in the fangs, you slip into JS turf. Right off the bat you pass up several good opportunities to capture or kill mutants. You are a bit too far from home and today poorly prepared to be dragging off a prisoner or stiff all the way to the base.

Eventually you get bored and decide to engage in your favorite recreational activity. It doesn't take you long to arrange an encounter with a young mutant JS soldier. He takes you back to his apartment where he is so impressed with your performance that he showers you with gifts. More importantly you gain his address and contact information; all you need to attempt to bring him in.

Doug + Susan + Niko:

Susan leads the training group out to a strange phone-booth like machine, which she explains is capable of simulating conditions from the vacuum of space to the eye-wall of a hurricane.

Intrigued Niko puts his Espeon in and dials up the winds. The psychic pokemon is almost instantly lifted from it's feet and bashed against the walls, breaking a few bones in the process. Eventually the breeder notices that damage is being done, and turns the machine off, vowing to use lower settings for the rest of his Pokemon.

Niko and the others then take turns putting their Pokemon through the device and inflicting upon them various injuries and levels of endurance training.

Susan gets 185 EXP
Doug gets 122 EXP
Niko gets 128 EXP

Sami + Lucian

Although the display is a bit buggy, and the detail still less than that of a proper vivesection, you both quickly discover that a scan is a non-intrusive and effective way of getting things done.

The actual scan of the shiny pokemon takes only a few minutes: The real work lies in pouring over the results and trying to apply them to existing research projects. Sadly you conclude that none of the existing research projects can benifit from the scans, so you hand the results over to Dr. Gonzalez for him to review. Luckily he spots something right away.

"Eso es extraño ... mi dios! This Pokemon has features... brain regions... glands... major organs?!?!? T...that are unlike others of it's kind! I'm floored. It must have to do with where you found it... it has to! I need to look at more Pokemon from the dungeons on this island!"

Niko Decides, after hearing their sob story, to give them 5000p for the leaf stone.  He also tells them if they should come across anymore stones to give him a call.

1.Breed Haline andMilli. (EDU mod 4)
2. Sell Cubchoos (Charm mod 4)
3. Train Haline 15, Milli 15, and Seiche 13 (If anyone else participates and Shadow 20) 2 injuries each

Action One: Scan the Xatu mutant.
Action Two: Investigate the JS medical robot.
Action Three: Go pokemon hunting again, this time searching for dark types, using the same balls as last time.

Voting for The Meeting as our next mission.

(Voting for Homewrecker like I wanted to last time. :P I'm also considering asking Tar and Edro if they would be cool with Sami scanning Lucian, since Susan is kind of interested in his supernatural abilities. Who knows, maybe it'll even count for something. ^^^ I might do some RP later, pressed for time right now.)

"I doubt that was the case, in all honesty, he still refered to you as his Girlfriend," Lucian says, then sighs, "now the hard part... we know that you are a mutant, and that Port Cane would likely try and capture you if it was found out. I do not intend to keep you here against your will or rat you out to Port Cane. However, I would like to ask you to return to speak with Mark. It would serve two purposes, he'd be more likely to admit any connection to McCain, and you would be able to get some closure, I would be present of course, I'd keep an eye on his aura to see if he was lying at all. You do not have to do it, it's your decision. I'd also like to give you this," he hands her a piece of paper, an application for employment, "we have a few mutants working here already, it is a way to be near your friends while remaining out of Port Cane's custody if they found you out. Again, you do not need to do anything with it, and can ignore everything I've said here now if you wish, it is simply an option. Contact me if you decide to go through with either," he hands her a card with his name and contact information on it.

1. Interrogate Mark about McCain and NPO, possibly with Claire's help. Modifier is Intelligence 5 + Guile 2 = 7 / 2 = 3.5
2. Let Susan and Sami Scan himself, if asked to do so. Otherwise Train White, Notes, and Dune. No injuries to them.
3. Purchase a Rod of Binding Crystal and go Pokemon Hunting with Sami. Modifier is Intelligence 5 + Technology 0 = 5 / 2 = 2.5 - 2 = 0.5

(Vote for The Meeting, has a high chance of a good pay off. Would have voted Homewrecker if it weren't for it not being Lucian's style.)

Doug makes a copy of the note for future reference.

The next day, he wakes up and looks over the note. At least now he has a plausible reason for interrogating Kull. Better do that now. (Interrogate Kull about the prototype, specifically the location, Intimidate +6)

Afterwards, he goes training with Niko. (Rhyhorn/Timburr 13, 4 injuries to each)

Then, he went with Sami and Lucian Pokemon hunting with Cherish Balls. Technology +0

(I would do that Tar, but we need to dissect a Second-Stage evolution first. Instead I'm going to focus on Kull. :P Anyway, Edro can train his pokemon, since I have no Tech skill.)

1. Susan vivisects Kull. (Perception +3.5)
2. Susan kills (if necessary) and dissects Kull. (Education +4) (Edit/Back-up: If the vivisection fails, then kill and dissect Vito instead regardless of if Kull lives or not)
3. Susan patrols around the WPSF HQ again. (Athletics +2)

(Admittedly I didn't know we had a stage 2 available to scan. Now that I do know, though, I would rather wait until my next forum turn to dissect a human. Your scan might fail, and I need at least two actions available to complete this current research I'm trying. If you want you could always try convincing Ger to do the dissection, his Education modifier is the same as mine so he has just a good a chance of completing it as I do. And if all goes well we get two TLs instead of one. :P)

I was assuming they'd save the favor until it was needed.

Also Susan might want to propose a backup second action, just in case action 1 fails but Kull is still alive.
